Any musicians out there? For sale is this Mexican made Fender Telecaster. Everything on it works perfectly. I rarely play it, so I figured I'd try to find it a new a home. Some pics: I have put this up on Craigslist as well. Just an FYI. Thanks!
What's the deal with the Mexican ones? Are they crappier or something? I'm interested. Barely play anymore but I've always wanted a Tele. What about trades? I've got stuff to trade probably who knows.
It's not 'Merican, so it's no good. Nah, it's just a way to provide a lower price point. The Mexican and California factories are only 150 miles apart. http://www.guitarstop.com/tour/indexT.htm http://picasaweb.google.com/meridianmusicguitars/FenderFactoryTour2006 Must resist temptation for great deal on Tele as well............
It's all subjective. I've played both MIM and MIA teles. I think MIM are a good value. That being said, is there a difference in overall feel or playability between a MIM and MIA? Possibly. A $500-600 difference? That's your call.
Oh yeah, and sorry. Not interested in trades. I'm actually looking to get rid of gear, not acquire more haha.
I think I have one lying around, sure. I have an interested party but if you're really interested, I'll give you (or anyone else on Clutchfans) the nod. Let me know asap. Thanks.
I'm still tire kicking at this point. Too many guitars in my collection. I'll check back over the weekend.
Yeah me too, I'm kicking tires. What's the retail on it? I own 2 acoustics (1 decent), and 4 electrics (1 good, the rest basically gifts from Target) and play literally 5 times a year - ha. Still... kind of want it.
It really is. Like I said, it works fine, I just rarely play it. This has been my main squeeze and the cause of my neglect towards the telecaster. Anyways, the guitar is still available (sorta). I have a guy stopping by this evening to take a look at it. Might be your last chance...
If that masked murderer doesn't come by tonight I may take it. If he talks you down to some absurd low price I'll beat it too. Assuming he doesn't cut you into pieces before then.
Love, love, love the sound of these. Full and lush w/plenty of bite. Not so twangy and thin like a standard tele. Get off of the fence and on this deal y'all. I'd do it but I'm saving funds for MIA Jazz bass.
Telecasters are nice I would say the key difference between the MIM and MIA guitars are the pickups - you won't hear the tone difference on home amps/practice amps but if you intend to take it for a show or something, the MIM pickups are a lot more twang-y sounding than the MIA. That's my experience anyway. This past summer I brought over my MIA strat from my parents' home in India and somewhat stripped my MIM guitar for parts to restore the MIA. The MIA showed its craftsmanship quality in not warping and stuff. I love the way it sounds now. I think with guitars you do actually get what you pay for.
