Yes, we all know that younger generations can't be conservative.

You can be, of course, I'm just letting you know who your fellow viewers are - statistically, the oldest audience watching TV today.

and if I remember correctly, a co-founder of Infernal Bridegroom with our own Batman Jones.

If you intentionally avoid BBT for some reason, you are missing out on one of the funniest shows on tv.

When I'm home I watch Sheppard Smith and Red Eye occasionally. And if I'm home on a weekday and golf's not on, I may leave Fox News during the day when the news shows are on. I'm not crazy about it, but being up here in Canada, where CNN is the main option for US news, it looks really good in comparison. They do some crazy stuff, but the quality of the reporting on average is much better than the other 24-hour news channels.

I'm absolutely serious. I had heard reporters that work for newspapers and local TV say that, but didn't really understand. Then I get to Canada, and when Fox News would have had a reporter somewhere, the CNN news anchor is reading Twitter about a news story.

    The Fox primary: complicated, contractual

With Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee all making moves indicating they may run for president, their common employer is facing a question that hasn’t been asked before: How does a news organization cover White House hopefuls when so many are on the payroll?

The answer is a complicated one for Fox News. (See: GOP's struggles play out on Fox)

As Fox’s popularity grows among conservatives, the presence of four potentially serious Republican candidates as paid contributors is beginning to frustrate competitors of the network, figures within its own news division and rivals of what some GOP insiders have begun calling “the Fox candidates.”

With the exception of Mitt Romney, Fox now has deals with every major potential Republican presidential candidate not currently in elected office. (See: Romney treads lightly in New York)

The matter is of no small consequence, since it’s uncertain how other news organizations can cover the early stages of the presidential race when some of the main GOP contenders are contractually forbidden to appear on any TV network besides Fox.

This would definitely be a problem if Fox News were indeed a news organization or the GOP contenders wanted to appear anywhere else other than Fox.

I find I learn more about a candidate's positions from watching them do an interview with Greta or Cavuto then I on any other network. GOP candidates should stay away from the liberal media networks if their goal is to get their message out.

Now that the supreme court has made it legal for corporations to donate as an individual would, who's to say that Rupert Murdoch and NewsCorp aren't developing their own stable of candidates?

That would be scary if a TV network, a "news" network no less, was able to essentially buy someone the presidency.

Threads with polls for a particular demographic should have a built-in pressure valve for all the other people to click. In this case, it would be "I am not a Republican." That way, compulsive poll-voters can still participate.

A candidate can use commercials and speeches to get their message out. The news media's job is to question and challenge their messages, not allow them to campaign at will.

The media should question the candidate's message, but thats not what usually happens on a liberal network. For example, if O'Donnell went on ABC or some other network should would spend the whole time answering masturbation and witchcraft questions. Not questions about her political stance. If she wants to answer questions on her political stance she should stay away from such venues.

Breaking News in this Thread, Literally:

Those on the left hate Fox news.
Those on the right hate CNN/MSNBC.

Those on the left think Fox news is all right wing propaganda and no factual news.
Those on the right think CNN/MSNBC is all left wing propaganda and no factual news.

Those on the left see Fox news as just Hannity/Beck.
Those on the right see CNN/MSNBC as just Olberman/Micheals/Maddow.

We can go on and on...........bottom line it is good to have different viewpoints from time to time......some of you might learn something.

In the end, all three when reporting news and talking news stories do a good job at it, but if you go into it without your mind made up than that shows a tad bit of ignorance on your part.

Comparing the two sides is like comparing a 2-year college to a 4-year college.

There's a huge difference between Fox and the other cable news outlets.

According to the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, here are the political leanings of Fox News over the last decade or so...

What's interesting about this chart is that the types of viewers for CNN and MSNBC are fairly constant over the last decade, but the Fox demographics have changed dramatically. As recently as 2002, there were similar numbers of Dems and Repubs watching Fox, but no more. Fox has become a Republican channel, pure and simple. This is a new thing in American History... there have been party newspapers before, but never has there been a party TV channel.

And if you think that Fox News differentiates between the "news" and the "commentary", well, that shows a tad bit of ignorance on your part.
