After a rant like Spanoulis put out, he should have been cut from the team and had his contract voided.

He's lucky to still be around.

Bargnani was the #1 pick in the draft. The Rockets have a winning record, and are not in a rebuidling situation.

Those are two major factors that Spanoulis does not have going for him in terms of asking for major PT.

Vspan would be a lottery pick if he entered the draft this year.

Mostly because of his height and the three point shot he has.

Thats what the scouts were looking at.

Anybody would take a talent like that at one, you just can't compare him and Span...not in the same league...

Yeah they should have kicked that piece of **** out, how dare he talk like that and ask for pt...
After all he was the one that came here begging for a contract from that place... wait I think it's called greace or something... a YMCA level player who's lucky to still be around and watch the likes of Rafer and JLIII teaching him how pg position should be played... those frigging Euros--I hate them so much... they'll never learn to play this game...

There are probably better examples of overlooked Europeans than Bargnani given that he was the number 1 pick in the draft...

    nothing cheap about him...

Do you really believe this? Some are projecting that the 2007 draft will be as deep as any in the last decade...

I believe that if V-Span were in the last year's draft he would have been a first round pick...yes.

To be honest, Rockets already have the formula for NBA champion, which Raptors don't have. Raptors do not have defense, they don't have rebound, and they are not tough enough, thus they can not go too far in the Playoff. But Rockets are different, we have weapons for offense as Tmac and Yao, we have defensive force like Motombo and Battie, and I don't think Rockets lack toughness. Right now the only thing Rockets needed is a guy who can flow the game, pass the ball to open place and shoot open jump shot. I think Rockets need a guy like Jose Calderon. Can Rockets find a way to trade for Jose in summer? I don't think BC wants to pay him big after next season anyway, Yao+Tmac+Calderon+JVG defense = NBA champion.

jl can not run the team at all, no way, every time he played the offence just broke down.
v-span did turn ove a lot, but head made some very low basketball iq pass.
    yes play bill !!

That would be great if the Raptors agree to it. However, judging from the way he is playing and contributing I doubt the Raptors will let him go. What about that other star point guard on the Spanish team... I think his last name was Navarro .... he played pretty well also in the World Championships.... what are the prospects of getting that guy..

No way. He MIGHT have been a first round pick this past draft, which isn't saying much. That being said....I would much rather have Marcus Williams (22nd pick) and maybe even Kyle Lowry (24th pick). Even Sergio Rodriguez (27th) looks better in my opinion. I feel like our expectations were set too high on Span after what we saw against USA. He should be in our plans but I just dont see it happening this year. I hope Im wrong because I'll gladly take production from him.

PG's go in the lottery occasionally but Euro PGs probably go later in the first round.

    Bigs always go first.

How can you compare the watched play of Head and JL3 to the potential play of V-span? The game that Rafer got booted out of, was the true telling of our trouble at the point. We could not even get the offense started. How could plugging V-span in be any worse than not being able to set up the offense? Also, look at the shooting percentages of our players when they play the point(not actually sure but i'm sure it is below forty percent). V-span has the ability to penetrate w/o throwing up a tear drop everytime he gets near the basket. With that kind of penetration, the lanes would collapse leaving McGrady a higher percentage shot as well as a dump of to Yao. I truly feel that JVG is too stubborn for his own good. I love what he has done this year, but he is so comfortable with his rotation that when no one on the floor can hit a house, he acts as if he has no other options. I think the Boston game would have been a perfect opportunity for V-span and Novak to get into the game. Would it truly have hurt anything? Dallas is deep b/c they use their bench. That is how we need to play to be able to rest our players come playoffs.

Yeah I meant the past draft since I was talking about bargnani who went 1st in that draft. Vspan after his world championship performance would have been a lottery pick last draft. Him and Bargnani could both be on the rockets right now and they would both be sitting right beside novak.
