OK, so you think he was lying. He didn't actually speak with scouts/GMs who were very complimentary towards the job JVG is doing. He just made that up. Got it. And you didn't respond to the other stuff, I see. No surprise. Good night.
I have no idea why this fool is allowed to post again on these boards in the first place... Dr of Dunk? What's going on here?
VSpan for President in 2008 he should be good next game, if he plays... it sucks that he mostly gets his minutes when loosing....anyways he needs to use them properly...he still has much pressure on his back that he needs to let go...he can't let JVG influence his game. SPan, if you don't feel you can develop here, move son, you will loose another year here on the bench!
RD, you went a long time without being loopy but now you've slipped and fallen. Stop the drugs and go into rehab. You are the biggest Froot Loop poster on the forum right now. 42 wins with Yao and Tracy missing all those games? When you wake up in rehab you will realize what nutty statement that was.
I only recently watched the replay and it clearly wasn't Vspan's night. He didn't have good passing skills, he had one sequence where he threw an overhead pass to the stands. An overhead pass is actually one of the most accurate passes when executed properly. It is also one of the most deceptive passes because you can do multiple fakes to misguide the opponent. Vspan had his chance , he just didn't deliver. With that said, nothing looked in sync in that game, the rockets collectively had an off-night, with the exception of snyder.
What kills me about your "argument" is the fact you claim the roster pretty much sucks, yet JVG is a horrid coach. The Rockets are where in the standings? Or is this where the popular "TMac, not JVG, has carried the team" argument comes in? If so, then why is not TMac to blame?
If he can't hack the pressure he should be on the bench man. The pressure JVG puts on him is nothing compared to the pressure he would feel in the 4th Q of a playoff game. This league has no room for a lack of self-confidence. You perform or you sit.
Spanoulis played like almost everyone in the team--pretty badly. He shouldn't be singled out from the other guys--this is called double standard. Agreed, he should get more chances to play and more trust in his game by the coaching staff, otherwise it might be better to move on to a fresh start...
He gets singled out by people who thinks he has sooooooo much untapped potential. Now when people "single him out" for sucking, you people can't take it?
The mistakes he made were beyond just having a bad game. They showed that he isn't ready for the NBA. Maybe if he was on a celler-dweller of a team, but he has a lot of work ahead of him. Maybe next year.
He has potential, no bashing can change that it's just that some people are waiting in the corner to cut his head off like it's the end of the world as if it was only him who didnt play well, the whole team sucked and you know it--you people just hate on Spanoulis just because there are people who dare to support him and call out some armchair experts for being ignorant. I am saying he needs 5-10 minutes of regular pt to show what he's got.
"The thing I take from these highlights is his consistency" actually, watching that tape now several months later what stands out to me is the poor play of the US (fouling him on the threes, e.g.) rather than a lot of red-hot individual brilliance on the part of Spanoulis the way that Jasikevicius or Arroyo did in 2004. No doubt Spanoulis capitalzed on the mistakes for the most part, however.
He hasn't had only one bad game, almost all of them have been bad to mediocre. The problem is that he hasn't really had one very good game, in 26 chances. When taken all together, he has shot 32%, 20% from downtown, and has a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio. That doesn't mean that he will never be good, but what he has shown on the court is certainly not deserving of giving him more time right now.
Vspan played better than rafer at least. Rafer was horrible yet again. I don't think he's had one good game this year.
If you're going to try to argue that someone's NBA-ready based on Rafer, well hell, I'm NBA-ready. ...Jokes aside, I hope that comparision was a joke, because even Rafer is leagues ahead of V-span at this point.
No joke. Rafer is terrible and vspan is much better. It would even be better if the rockets waived or bought out rafer - addition by subtraction. Rafer brings to many negative things to the table.
