You really need to try it out again. Even if you don't like their original coneys, the Chicago dogs are as authentic as any you'll find in Chicago, itself.

(So are the New York dogs, but I've never been a fan of just kraut & mustard.)

    Wienerschnitzel >>>> James Coney Island

However, I do miss the JCI Chili Spaghetti since moving away from Houston.

Hey I didn't know what JCI was either. I usually just call it James Coney Island. Yeah I know, I'm weird.

Hot dog scene in Houston is lame compared to places like Chicago and St. Louis.

Oh you know it. I've got a set of Greg Ostertag and Antoine Carr jerseys hanging in my office. I cried when Shandon Anderson signed with the Rockets.

there really is no better way to eat a hotdog.. Chicago's mini-salad bar on a sausage and bun.. is particularly mystifying.. as to the.. why..?

I gotta say I think that kraut and mustard is my favorite way to enjoy a dog. I still love a good ol JCI original, but kraut on just about anything is awesome.

Just an FYI, went by today, and they have a "Sonoran" hot dog right now.

Full size hot dog with a bacon strip, pinto beans, relish, onion, guacamole sauce, etc. I couldn't find a pic or link of it online, but it was available at the Rayford/Sawdust location.

I give it 8/10 for a JCI hot dog. Not my favorite, but would definitely order it again.
