That's a good point Dadakota...A lot of posters are extreme in their views....I can think of a handful on both side of the political road. The thing that separates many of these posters from the idiot in question is they speak for themselves and their opinion is voiced without posting questionable, mendacity filled rhetoric passed as their own...

Think of this place as a ME country, like Kuwait, Irag, or Afghanistan. You have no rights here and there doesn't have to be ANY equalness whatsoever. You see double standard can exist here here.....Dancing, Singing, or whatever can be grounds for execution.

So what can you post say a disillusioned poster? Well it depends....think about it.

 

Q8, yeah, he is totally biased and close-minded. Anti-semitic? Strangely, I think he is racist but not necessarily anti-semitic. He is very committed to defining and protecting what he believes belongs to fellow 'Arabs', and totally ignores the concept of fellow 'Humans'. But, as I understand it, these issues are actually beside the point.

The question is, are Q8's actions damaging the board. Are his actions trollish? Overly repetitive? Hateful? Or just a waste of bandwidth (i.e. full of errors and omissions..propoganda)?

This is often a gray area and can be difficult for Admins. In this instance, BK (good to see you back) is asking others for their opinions. Personally, I have never known anyone like Q8. That does not mean I have not known any Arabs, it means that I have not known anyone so consummed by hate that he can define all people in a country as evil. They can ONLY see one side. I found the experience educational. Similarly, I used to read many of 'boy' s posts (which I rapidly found less and less educational).

At what point does action such as Q8's damage a board? I don't know. Sorry I'm not more help, but I'll leave this to the Admins. They've created this exceptional community for us and I trust their wisdom in maintaining it.

I suppose that I should post great objective articles that are "critical" of Israel that wouldn't offend you. Why does a critical look at the Islamic world offend you so? I don't think that Israel is beyond reproach, but geez, open your mind.

I guess I'll find an article about how the great anthrax attack is possibly the work of "Midwestern right-wing hate groups" so you will be pleased.

Anyways, I don't recall posting anything on the Israeli-Palestinian situation, nor Islam for quite some time now.

 

I have decided that I don't know enough about the subject to really say anything, but I feel that I have to make this statement:

MrSpur started off really bad with some of his posts, but he has really cleaned things up since his "rap" thread. Granted he and Treeman are probably very extreme in their views, but Spur is a different poster than the one that was originally so over-the-top.

As hard as it is for me to say this, I think that people here should realize how far he, Spur, has come on this subject.

 

I understand fully that this BBS is not one where free speech without consequences is allowed, and I agree with that. I personally think that Clutch, Jeff, Kagy, and all the other admins (except for that b*stard Administrator) have done an outstanding job in the past and present (and I'm sure the future) in regulating what as been said on this board. However, if stuff like this were to start occuring on a regular basis, then I would stop visiting this board as much. I know that Clutch and Kagy lean more towards the right, but I really feel that I've heard just as bad of things from MrSpur and treeman, among others, that I read from Q8 Rocket. If hatred from one side is allowed, but not another, then this BBS is one I won't be hanging out at (and I'm really proud to say that it's the only one I do hang out at). I personally think that crap that has been posted by all 3 should almost be zero-tolerance offenses.

BTW, that jew media propaganda machine known as MSNBC is reporting that your favorite Islamic freedom fighters opened fire on a civilian bus stop today killing four women and injuring many others. I'm sure on Al-Jazeera though they'll be reporting that these martyrs were just killing the people who were making poisoned candy for Palestinian kids.

 

Allright, this is absolutely ridiculous. I was actually going to take a hiatus from posting here, because people like Q8, boy, glynch, etc really try my patience, but I feel I should address several issues in my defense:

1) I have never once said that I hate all Arabs, what I have said is that a majority of Arabs in all likelihood hate us and I therefore do not trust them. I am under no illusions that they are - as a group - friends.

2) I did not once say that I wanted to nuke the Arabs. Several posters appear to think that I said that, and I did not. I have said that if nukes or smallpox are used against us, then I would respond with nuclear weapons. Incidentally, Clinton made that law with an executive order (automatic nuclear response), so it's not so whacko.

3) I have never once said that I want to 'destroy Iraq' (Jeff's words). I want to remove Saddam and the Baath party - which if anything would free Iraq and end the sanctions, not to mention significantly enhancing our security.

4) This anthrax is Iraqi supplied and Al Qaeda administered. Jeff - if it's domestic terrorists, then why the f*k did they send it to two American businesses in Pakistan?

5) For the 100th time, I honestly could not care less what race or religion anyone is. But if someone attacks me, I am going to fight back, and I am frankly disgusted (and angry) with anyone who would want to restrain me from defending myself. Or restrain our nation from defending itself. And again I hate to splash reality on everyone's face, but our current enemy is a group of Islamic Arabs who have a great deal of popular support throughout the ME.

I frankly don't really care about winning any popularity contests here, but I have to say something when several posters here blatantly lie about what I have said. You guys are putting me in the idiot boat with Q8 and boy among others, but you're doing it because of things that I have never said. If I'm really in the same boat with them, then I want it to be for something that I have actually written here, and not just what you think of me personally. And if I'm really in the same boat as Q8 and boy, then I'd hope the admins would ban me - and I mean that - because that would mean that I have gone waayyy too far. Those two individuals were ecstatic on 9/11, I'll bet money on it.

MrSpur: Believe what you want to believe. Your posts are repeatedly one-sided. I don't agree with them and I think most of what you have to say on the subject is ridiculous. That is my choice. When you post something one-sided, it IS propoganda no matter what the source. You have made your feelings clear and that's fine. Don't get pissed at me if I get tired of reading it. Part of my job is to help Clutch by scanning posts.

If I spent 99% of my posts telling everyone why killing animals for food was murder, not only would I not be a very popular guy, I'd be disrespectful of the beliefs of others and my posts would be boring and obvious. Pick a new topic for once.

By the way, if anyone needs an open mind, you should take a look in the mirror. The very fact that I am criticized by you AND Q8 should tell you something.

treeman: Your feelings for the Arab "culture" are clear. You said it yourself but I'm not going to dig through 100 posts to find it because it is a waste of time. (Mango, a little help? ). I don't care what you believe but you are so closed off to any possibility that it makes discussing this subject with you worthless.

Also, you seem to take a giddy pleasure in announcing any possible connection to Iraq and the various troop deployments that I kinda find frightening. I don't know who really LIKES war, but the way you word a post sure makes it seem like you aren't unhappy about it and I find that just strange.

I don't give a rat's ass if people are biased. If you want to erradicate the jews, the muslims, christians, gays, dogs, cats, the media, whatever. That's your business. But, don't come in here and try to give lectures on how CORRECT you are or how open minded you are when you spend the majority of your posts sounding like a broken record.

And I get pissed when someone finally speaks their mind but because he is an "admin" they suddenly are required to have some tact and take it easy on everyone. ....o.k. I am sure some of you are tired of my squirrel act. This is my one year anniversary month and it started early on with many posters poking fun of my style when I started and everyone getting a good laugh but many still wary of this new wierd poster....after a few months, I noticed the reception by other posters getting better and better. At first, ZRB, 95, and Achebe discoursed like oil and water with me to the nth degree, and though they might not fancy me still; the exchange is at least indifferent and at best very friendly at times.

Why the perceived change (real or not?) I don't know? Maybe my post count getting higher mandated proper replies.. .....no, not likely. Did more people understand the words that were coming out of my mouth? ...hmmm what was it? After countless hours of research, I came to a solid conclusion: My posts now are much more varied than when I first started. I basically did two things: "Go Rockets!" and "Does anyone else have an AR-15 assault rifle". These two things interest me greatly, but at least one probably doesn't to you.

Furthermore, I did a lot of thinking about other topics that interest me....I put more thought into what I posted. Less emphasis was put on posts, but what I post that mattered. It's almost like I became a better writer. Instead of hating the style and message of: haven, DEAN B., Achebe, 95, shanna, ZRB, outlaw..etc. (o.k. I better stop..), I learned it's o.k. that everyone is not agreeing with me. I took it as a challenge. Some of these guys don't agree with me on everything. I took a step back and said...hey,.. I appreciate those who disagree with me because it helps me examine the reasoning of what I think and actually confirms what I believe....of course, there are times when I say: you know this guy is really right about this after having another perspective. For the record, Jeff has changed what I thought I thought on many occasions!

Q8, said I had no good information background, ....I assume regarding his culture, religion, demography, and overall way of life.........and that is probably is true....but what I do know is a friend named Rammi, who lived all his childhood life (I talked about this in another thread.) in Isreal before immigrating here and had witnessed his own cousin's murder as Rammi ran behind him. I don't have to go into detail about the gore. Like I said, my friend still has nightmares....and for what? For peace to happen like everyone wants, there has to be a shared goal....Too bad it has been difficult in happening. You can say all or nothing on both sides, but that obviously won't happen if the goal is peace.
