somewhere around 1972 - - a cousin in Houston who was a high school coach arranged for tickets. I was a broke musician ( aren't they all) and the Rockets and Elvin Hayes had just moved home from San Diego...

I think it was a Rockets vs. Sonics (with Detlef Schrempf) game back in 1995. I believe we lost.

November 22, 2002 against the Wizards. It was the first and only time I got to see Michael Jordan play in person; fortunately for the Rockets and unfortunately for personal nostalgia, he didn't play very well. The Rockets did win and as I recall Yao played very well. Good first game to go to, especially because I got to stay in one of the suites!

I must have been about 5 or 6 and I was so excited that my dad was taking me to a game. Have no idea the year or who we played, but we lost and I started crying and saying stuff like "why don't they win when i come to the game" Looking back I think that was the point where it went from just enjoying sports to obsession, but eh whatcha gonna do.

Makes me feel better since I was feeling old talking about watching Allen Leavell, Rodney McCray and Mitchell Wiggins.

    In Houston none.

    In Mexico: 24 - oct - 93 ( I know the exact date because I still have the ticket :) )
Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and NY won.

I've only been to one Rocket's game. I've always followed them in print, radio and on TV. But it was the year of the Twin Towers, when Ralph and Hakeem went to the finals. I remember the game because a national magazine was at the game too, and wrote an article on it, talking about how Ralph was an underrated defensive player, and how he had sacrificed his offense so Hakeem could have a place to play. They won, the game hinging on a blocked shot by Ralph.

I wish I could tell you the date and opponent, but I can't anymore. I was mostly a grad student when I was in Houston and money was hard to come by.

Fond memories though. XD XD XD

    David.

The Summit, April 30, 1991. Third game of the Western 1st round vs. the Lakers. We lost 94-90, if I remember correctly. Magic had 40-something points. We got swept and L.A. went on to play the Bulls in the finals. It turned out to be Magic's last game vs the Rockets because he announced his retirement that offseason.

All I remember from my first game was the friggin' girl behind me kept kicking my chair....squarely in the back area. I wanted to turn around and give her a piece of my mind but never said a thing, I was with my family.

    The first game?

It was in 1972 Hofheinze Pavillion with my father and older brother. Don't remember much except that Elvin Hayes was the guy that my brother loved. Anyone remember the Hayes street commercials?

    :)

I didn't start watching the Rox myself (without my Dad/brother's interest) until 1976. As Houston fans can attest. Football was a bigger deal (as it is today). They seemed to want to wathch them more.

All I remember is that Bill Walton was playing (and it was not for Boston) and he was unreal. He scored over thirty points and got a ton of rebounds. I don't know if the Rockets won or lost, but Walton really impressed me. He was by far the best player on the court. It was in the 70's at the Summit (if that what is was called then).

My Dad swears he took me to several games at Hofheinz Pavillion but I have no memory of them. He played basketball in high school and college so of course when the Rockets moved here from San Diego, he was in heaven. He had season tickets from their first year here until 1996.

The first game I can remember was the year the Summit opened and we were playing the spurs. I spent half the time looking at the ceiling (all those cool walkways at the top of the Summit) and the other half looking at Artis Gilmore's fro!

When the Summit first opened, smoking was allowed. There was a 'no smoking' section and that's where my Dad had season tickets (Section 103, row E, seats 1 & 2). Every once in a while some turd would light up and my Dad would walk up to him, tap him on the shoulder and ask (tell) him to put it out. They always would. My Dad was a large man. :D
