Well, he does. If he wasn't around, Cato would probably avg 1 or 2 ppg. Not to mention the alley-oops make him look good.

    LOOK GOOD! NOT BE GOOD!

Does he give KC makeovers or something? Am I missing something? Cato - "When you're done with my hair can you do something about these fingernails Stevie? Oh, and about my wardrobe..."

Stevie - "Can I tell you something KC? You look TOIGHT"

You mean you didn't notice? KC was 6th in sexiest looking player, way up from 300th overall the year before. SF is amazing at makeovers. :)

I meant that Francis makes Cato seem like he's better than he is.

"And you're CERTAIN that Francis wanted to get Morris? You know for a fact that he stormed into CD's and Rudy's offices and demanded that the Rockets trade for Morris. I'm sure you, Steve, and TroyBaros were all talking about what a great player Terence Morris is one night and you....oh, wait, that's right! Just like every other Steve basher, you're slamming Francis based on accusations with nothing to back it up with! Damn, you almost had me fooled there for a minute...

Oh, and Cuttino was here BEFORE Steve, so I seriously doubt he had much influence on the Rockets selected him. Same thing with Walt and Cato, who both arrived at the same as Steve did. Of course, I'm sure CD and Rudy LOVE to put important personnell decisions in the hands of a player they just drafted...

    It all makes sense now!"

We, well, well... Stevie made it very clear to the media that he wanted T-mo on the team. Was that the only reason why we traded up and got him, no it wasn't, but it was definetely a contributing factor.
As to the players Francis has his core group of friends who he wants to keep in Houston with him. I was surprised Walt was not brought back because Stevie does like him. You never know if we can find some team to dump Rice on then maybe he will be back.
I think it is a common assumption (may not be 100% true) that if Cat leaves for another team that it makes it tougher to re-sign Stevie after this year.

Again my point isn't that Stevie shouldn't have a say, but I would rather Stevie say hey I want this guy (or position) on the team so we can win. He seemed more concerned with lobbying for T-mo, for saying we can draft whoever we want except Jay Williams, because we already have a PG, or to trade Ming (actually the #1 pick in the draft) for Odom. Granted he did say get Odom so we can win now, but Ming is going to be a terrific player, and Odom well he's good no doubt, but not a franchise type player.

But again I just don't think Stevie always has the teams best interests in minds when he talks about some of the HR stuff. Does he have the final say in any of these decision, no he doesn't. But until Griff or Ming proves they can cartry the Franchise the Rockets will listen to Stevie as to what he wants, no matter how wrong he may be :)

Why don't you go look at the stats for 00-01 when Steve wasn't injured all season.

    Steve was
    PPG #1
    Assits #1
    3pt% #1
    RPG #2
    Total Rebounds #1
    FT% #2 (Still over 80%)
    MPG #1

And the Rockets won 45 games

With a healthy Steve we don't need Yao or Rashard or Nachbar.

And if Steve had been healthy for 74 games in 01-02 we would have won 45 games again.

Its hard to see when you have cranial rectumitis.

You might want to see a Doc Rocket about that.

    Oh yeah STL/G #1

    Okie,

I think a rejuvenated Dream had a lot to do with that too, as did a healthy Mo Taylor.

    Very mature response.

I am still wondering what Pamela Anderson has to do with Steve Francis. Is he the one guy she won't sleep with?

It's so funny how quickly you resort to name-calling when someone like myself is quick to criticize a Rocket, or the Rockets as a whole.

"mrs kidrock8" Did you think of that one by your lonesome?

Awww kidrock, no response for me? I'm disappointed.

Everyone should give Francis time to mature before writing him off. A lot of players have made bigger mistakes and have been in the league longer than Francis and they've gotten slack and they've bloomed. Francis WILL do the same thing even though his transgressions have not been nearly as bad.

PS: kidrock, do you even like the Rockets?

Are there really rocket fans that wish Steve was not on the team?
