Alright everybody, I hate to do self-promotion, but if you're not listening to anything tonight at 7 pm CST, I'd appreciate it if you could tune in to my World Cup radio show. I think the quality is decent for what it is and you shouldn't be too disappointed (unless you're a France fan; we'll probably be rubbing salt into that wound). It's called "World Cup Weekly" and you can hear it on 91.7 FM in Austin and www.kvrx.org anywhere else. It's a great outlet if you'd like to call in and talk some World Cup with eager college students.
Fixed Was the game even worth watching? The snippets I saw throughout the day made it seem very bland.
Erm, the 2002 squad want some recognition. (A dispirited Okocha and Kanu after the NFA/NFF axed their teammates from 98 who helped them qualify for 02, as well as the removal of the coach- for the 1st of two times the NFF did him wrong).
Disagreed completely. France played like garbage. Mexico was not any more impressive than when they played their opening game.
France's decline is really sad to watch. I honestly don't have the slightest clue what is going on with them. There is ZERO team chemistry right now. The coaching is horrid. Basically everything that could go wrong is going wrong. And for ****'s sake why is Samir Nasri not in the squad?!?!!
What did you want Mexico to do, win by 5 or 6, maybe, to impress you? Maybe you would want them to not let France have the ball at all? France didn't play like garbage, man. They had some chances. They made a couple of mistakes and Mexico capitalized. Q: Keeping/Recording All World Cup Games?? Is anyone recording the games onto DVD or VHS or on their PCs via their media center? I am keeping all the MEXICO and USA games on my DVR to watch later, but I am transferring all slowly onto my DVDs and am having a tough time recording 2 into 1 disc. At the highest quality, only one game fits into one DVD since my recorder can't read dual layer blank discs. Anyone? I would like to share them later with friends (or foes) for non-lucrative purposes as long as it is legal. I have all in Spanish from Univision's feed.
You think Mexico and Uruguay will agree to play a tie game and avoid the France/South Africa winner from advancing?
I think they play hard, but if it gets late, and the game is tied, I think they will just take it back a bit. I guess overall though, is who would they be facing in the knockout round, got to consider that too. DD
QUESTION: I have seen a bunch of advertisements about watching the game on your phone. I have not really paid close attention to this, but if anyone knows anything about it: 1) How do I do this? (2) Can I do it on my Droid?
Congrats mexican fans, I'm happy (every time one of the top euro team loses I'm happy). France played terrible, but Mexico took advantage and played good. Your guys should give them credit. I'm impressed with Dos Santos, seems like a good player. Salcido also played great, I never was this impressed with him when he plays for PSV. It looks like both the US and Mexico will advance.
MEXICO!!! MEXICO!!! MEXICO!!!! The next game Mexico and Uruguay will play to win it, because neither wants to face Argentina in the next round. Great goal by "the Little Pea" what?? France played badly, because Mexico stopped them, Mexico played nice defense, Maza, Salcido, Moreno all played great! I dont mind the sound of the vuvuzelas, but you couldnt hear them like the other games.
I celebrated the win like no other. on my own watching the game and screaming my lungs out. Honestly tho, France lacked heart. Yea Mexico outplayed them, but France played average. They didn't seem to care. They did not react like a top team would after the first goal. They just seem to shrug it off and keep playing it cool. I will note this...there was serious tension and frustration by both teams. So that does discard my theory that France didn't care. Maybe like you said, they could get anything done. Either way...say no to Argentina. Expect Mexico to play it safe. They'll go for the goal but they won't play the same way they did the first two games.
