Mexico burned by the size advantage on that corner. This could be bad news for the U.S. considering we haven't done well against taller forwards.
Holiday here in Canada, watching the Mexico vs England game, so far has been a lively affair, good game. England just scored, too bad because Mexico started off really well. The Mexican players lack size and physical presence, but are quite good with the ball.
What a great game so far.. wonderful attacking football from both sides. Great save by the England keeper.
Mexico is controlling the action but they are just so stinking short, a bunch of midgets out there, nothing available to them in the air at all. But on the ground very creative.......Crouch just scored....2 nill. DD
GOooOooOoolazo... again... CROUCH was OFF SIDE. Too bad... they didn't call it. GOL in the books. HEIGHT. C'mon, Carlos... shoot it AWAY from the goalie.
LOL, size does matter....Peter Crouch. The goalie should have been all over that, horrible defense. Also, Mexico has the speed advantage, they've got to avoid crossing it in when they have no size up front...
It doesn't matter if the ball is in the air or on the ground. He was offside when the ball hit the crossbar. If you have DVR, watch it again. He can't be in the way of the goalie or closer to the goal than 2 defenders (including the goalie). Look it up, mister kids' coach. It's on the books now. No use arguing with you. A better ref wouldn't have missed that.
It has nothing to do with when it hits the crossbar, it's when his teammate shot it. He looked offside either way though.
I will have to look, so you are saying he was offside on the shot? Because the crossbar is irrelevent, right, it is when he took the shot...same as a pass, iirc. DD
Yes. I mean that he can't be closer than 2 defenders on the pass, and it happened just before the ball hit the crossbar. He gained an advantage over the defenders and got to the ball before them for that reason based on his position. Many forget the rule about a player being offside when the ball hits the crossbar and it returns to him. Basically, it's a disadvantage for the defenders. ¡GOLAZO!!!! ¡BRAVO, GUILLE!!!! Thanks for staying in.
