Cote D'Ivoire Were Afraid Of Us In The First Half - Portugal Star Cristiano Ronaldo

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo believes his side were the only one battling for the three points and stressed that the Seleccao played well in the 0-0 draw with Ivory Coast today.

"We knew the Ivory Coast would not attack much and would stay at the back more. They were afraid of us in the first half, in the second session they got their game a bit more loose, but we played well and did not win only because we did not have any luck," Ronaldo told RTP 1.

The draw leaves the Seleccao in a tough situation in Group G, but Ronaldo is confident his team are anything but out of the race for the knockout stage.

"Have we lost any margin for error? No, everything is still open, we have to continue like this," he stated.

What a little b****, Ivory Coast looked a lot more dangerous than his team, I'll admit they did have a lot of men back at times, but its a strategy they had to take without Drogba. They opened it up in the second half, yet Portugal mustered nothing on offense.

    Ignorant American moment confession

Totally forgot that it is winter in the Southern hemisphere and it is 30 degrees and feels like 20 at the start of the Brazil / North Korea match.

I think the Nigerian goalie had a strong influence on Messi's inability to find the back of the net.

Yup big time. If you see the shots he stopped against Messi then you definitely would agree. Every shot Messi had would have been a goal but that GK was amazing stopping each and everyone one of them.

They just announced on the broadcast that they have a sound filter to lower the sounds of the horns during this game. Thank god they have decided to do this.

Tirico said there are "filters in the broadcast so the vuvufuelas (sp?) will not be as loud".

    We shall see.

No vuvuzelas during the anthem. Good start.
