Ouch, how could the referee overlook that brutal foul by De Jong against the Danish captain.

Denmark is so much more impressive than I would have expected them to be. Still, I don't think they will be able to withstand the Dutch firepower the whole 90 minutes.

If De Jong had been carded for his first hard foul (which would have been deserved), he would already be sent off now. van Persie should have shot immediately on that last chance of his.

not an impressive first half, Denmark has been more dangerous than us in their counter.

They have a good defensive team, and bendtner is a striker which we have difficulties defending.

Still I think we will win this game. But maybe Denmark can beat Camaroon and also advance.

Agreed with Van Persie, I think Elia and de Zeeuw will come on and Van der vaart and de Jong will be substituted.

Nice win by the Dutch. Dominated most of the game and really should have had more than 2. They need Van Persie to get back to his old self if they're going to go far. Can't keep misfiring like that and expect to move on against better teams.

Congrats arno_ed. Efficient start to the tournament. Normally, the Dutch start would have been the German start and vice versa. As we all know, the team that shines brightest in the first game rarely wins the tournament, so things are looking good for you guys.

Exactly remember 2 years ago, we were amazing in the group but we played terrible against Russia and lost.

Not the best game, but a win and that is most important. Robben will be there for the second round. And Elia made a good impression, nice substitution.

Denmark was bad offensively. They need a fit Bendtner.

Hé Mo why are we scum?

arno_ed, great game. I heard most of it on the way in to work this morning. By the looks of it, the substitution in the second half changed everything. Wouldn't you agree? Perfect execution of the through passes and phantom goals that the Danish couldn't stop. Way to play, sir.

No, the own goal changed everything.

LOL  I meant in the Orange's attack... but... ok, if that's what you think... I thought that only changed the score.

The goal changed everything because due to it, Denmark couldn't just rely on their counter-attack strategy anymore. They had to try to attack themselves, and that didn't work too well for them. Then you throw in someone like Elia who is extremely fast and can run into the space that is opened because Denmark needs to be more offensive and then it's pretty much game over.
