Algeria were definitely the better team today. If I was Algerian I would hate the #9 player for his nutty red card, and the weak save attempt by the goalie. Slovenia now has a chance of making it past the group stages, will be interesting to see who doesn't make it...

by far slovenia's worst game in a long time, i'm confident they'll play better against usa so don't judge them by today's performance. england and slovenia will advance

You might be right about the ball, but on the Slovenia goal your goalie messed up, the ball was hit quite lightly and he just misjudged it. That specific goal had nothing to do with the ball, IMO. Your team did play well though, its too bad they lost because on this day they were better than Slovenia.
Agreed. They don't even stop during national anthems. Part of the joy of watching a great soccer match is hearing the reaction of the crowd; the songs, the cheering and the emotional reactions. The vuvuzelas destroy that. It would seem that people doing that don't even have an opportunity to watch the game; they just constantly blow on them to create the sound of hell.
I'm pretty sure that those noises are machine-generated through speaker system or something.. Kind of like white noise in the office.

ESPN explained their rankings like this. It's not how well they played the last three years or so, but more like how they will behave in the next couple of games.

Anything can happen in the WC, but usually the cream rises to the top. France looked like crap and Uruguay was packed in tight....neither of those teams was all that impressive. DD
Damn, I had no idea. I was cooking at the time and it seemed like a horrible call. I didn't get to catch a replay or hear the announcers. I was wondering how on earth that was a penalty. I'm disappointed we won't see any Ballack coming up. One of my favorite players.
