Silva seems like the only spanish jugador who wants to try to score 2. The rest content to try to pass.
Please, SPAIN... I know it's smart and all, but... don't hide the ball... try to score. Don't PUNK out on the attack.
poor germany. spain controlled the entire game save a few good opportunities for germany at the end. wasnt germany missing one of their best players for a yellow card?
VIVA ESPANA It will be a great final. 2 countries starved for the ultimate success in the World Cup...arguably the best 2 to never win it. Sunday will be fun...
And Paul stays perfect. http://www.npr.org/blogs/showmeyourcleats/2010/07/07/128360418/the-octopus-says-spain?ft=1&f=1055
So who are you going for? You've been rooting for both... lately... you make me laugh, man... I think NETHERLANDS wins it. I want SPAIN to win it.
Thomas Mueller. He was given a bs yellow card for a handball he didn't commit. They should be able to rescind yellow and red cards after review. Bogus.
WOW was I ever so wrong! Germany played so uncharacteristically. It seemed like they were trying to adapt to the Spanish style of play... and some were trying to dribble it 1 on 3. Also with all these tall Germans, they couldn't win a header on the attack to save their lives and it seemed like all of them had at least a foot on the defenders. Unacceptable. One thing for sure though, this was the CLEANEST game I have seen in a loooong long time. For the most part of the game, there wasn't really much diving and rolling on the ground ala Robben. I'm very proud of both teams, they played with pride. Del Bosque is one helluva coach. I'm glad Torres wasn't a part of this game for the most part, but watching Pedro dismiss Torres' existence was quite painful. I was rooting for Germany, but I don't mind at all that Spain won without Torres. The good thing about this is if they keep this up, the Netherlands is in for trouble. Spain for the 2010 World Cup Champions!
just read up on the rule. bogus or not, i don't know, but it does seem pretty crappy to suspend a guy in the semi finals for 2 yellow cards throughout the tourney. Guess that's soccer though. it's nice to have a couple cinderella stories though. Spoiler
My gut never fails me, congratulations Spain! Can't wait for the final, two exciting teams with tons of talent. Spain's system is lethal with Xavi and Iniesta in the midfield and the high skill level allows them to have confidence in maintaining the short passes after setbacks. However, they haven't faced a dangerous forward trio in the WC yet. The touch passing between Robben, Sneijder and Van Persie will be key to Holland scoring, I don't think there's as big a difference between the teams as people make it out to be. Holland with a first half goal as they single out and attack Pique, Spain with the fight back. Spain 2-1.
