Why oh why didn't Valencia wait until after the World Cup before they sell Villa?! He's just increased his value another £10m after this game and Valencia would've probably got anywhere from £70m-90m if they waited a month!

Germany is going to win the World Cup. They are annihilating every team.

Sadly it should be Spain vs Germany in the final.

Both Netherlands and Germany would beat Spain.

You should put down a huge bet since you're so sure.

I am going to bet the 500 euro I won today on Holland beating Uruguay.

Regarding Germany vs. Spain, I am not sure. 50/50 again. But this German team has surprised me the last two games. Not only that they won, they slaughtered their opponents. Spain is possibly the best team in the world right now...but in the shape we are in, we fear no one.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is certainly the greatest player of the tournament so far. He is my friend and a great guy. If he doesn't get hurt, he can lead us to the title.

Germany is just too methodical and disciplined, South American teams outside of Brazil normally get clobbered by this. I thought Argentina's front 3 would provide an early goal but things went the other way and once they were behind...

My thoughts on the marquee semi-final matchup.

    Germany vs. Spain

Pique and Puyol are so damn terrible. Torres has been wasting too many possessions, Del Bosque needs to realize that current form > reputation in the WC semi-finals and bring him off the bench. Spain look much more dangerous with Fabregas down the middle and Villa trailing him from the side. But they lose a lot of height so Llorente might deserve playing the final 30 if the short passing game doesn't provide any breakthroughs.

Germany (since the beginning of time) play a very smart, composed game and prey on opponent weaknesses. So they'll play it tight at the back and look to counter attack on a midfield dispossession with Okil trailing Podolski, Muller and Klose. The two oafs at the back won't know what hit them, so Spain can't be inaccurate with their passes/crosses like they were today.

All the signs point to Germany beating Holland in the final, but we haven't seen Germany respond to early setbacks. Brain tells me Germany, gut tells me Spain. Money on Spain over Holland now that Argentina is out (stupid to put faith in their D).

True story. Torres has stunk it up since the Euros '08. He's even much, much worse this WC. No wonder the manager has been subbing him early in the second halves since the Euros. I guess he's like Messi. Great in the league games, but is invisible like a ninja on International games.

Thanks, Yes I did I will respond to that later this post.

Hup Holland is the old fasion way of saying that.

I had that two, I’m doing great on all my predictions

    I sure did. Unbelievable.

    Thanks for the confidence

Brazil actually have been playing like this for years, the samba football has been mostly a Myth. They always played defensively but had some amazing strikers.

2 players are suspended De Jong, and Van der Wiel. De Zeeuw will play in the place of de Jong, and Boulahrouz will play instead of van der wiel, we lose some offense with this, but our defense is a bit better (I’m a big van of Boulahrouz.

The first goal was lucky I agree, but Holland was already better at the beginning of the second half, the Red card came later. Holland has been great at the beginning of the second half this entire tournament. Brazil did not dominate in the second half. The Netherlands had much more chances to finish the game (Huntelaar cough cough) than Brazil had.

I agree, Do not underestimate the Netherlands, we have not been playing great but we did win all our games, It is amazing that we have been winning even tough one of our best players (Van Persie) has been playing terrible.

    Thanks

I hop to see the finals Holland-Germany, This tournament the Netherlands is playing like the Germans always did, and the Germans are playing like the Netherlands used to do. Let’s hope the outcome is also reversed

The game was amazing. It was indeed on my wedding day at the same time of the reception after the formal part in city hall. I arranged a big screen, so all my guests and s could watch the game. I couldn’t watch the first half, since I had to stand and accept the congratulations of all our guests. The second half was amazing, and when we made the second goal the entire building exploded (there were about 100 guests at the time). It was amazing We were all screaming. The party afterwards was also great. It was an amazing day.

The Dutch media were critical the entire tournament, but now they are proclaiming us champion. That is a bit annoying.

I still believe we have a good chance of winning. Uruguay without Suarez is a team we should beat. But on the other hand they didn’t come this far without a reason. But I’m confident.

Germany has been impressive. I’m loving their game, especially Bastian Schweinsteiger has been amazing, But Mueller was also great. I really hope they will make it to the finals. And I cannot believe I’m saying this but If Germany wins, they deserve it.

Spain, has not been impressive. Villa is great but the rest of the team are playing that good. Still they made it to the semi-finals, so you cannot count them out.

    My predictions:
Finals The Netherlands-Germany 2-1 (I would be so happy, the problem is that during the finals I’m on a plane to Madagascar, for my honeymoon, so I cannot watch it).

    First of all, congratulations!

But why did you plan your wedding during the world cup? For some reason there are lots of weddings going on during the world cup month. I had to attend a wedding and missed the first half of the Holland-Brazil game as well. Not nearly worth missing it as much as you tho.

    My predictions:
Germany 3 - 2 Netherlands. High scoring game ftw.

Ehh, I sort of Forgot  , With my work that was the best time to plan the wedding. It was not until by Best man told me that I realized that it was during the quarter finals of the Netherlands.

All my guests were able to watch the entire game, Only the few guests that didn't care for the game and wanted to congratulate me during the game made me miss the first half.

All in all it was amazing, watching the game with all my friends and winning on my wedding day was amazing, we have the video of the end of the game. It is amazing to see how happy everybody was. Just amazing.

Looks like the Brazilians are rather happy about Maradona's departure:

Maradona was so freaking arrogant before the match...a few months ago, he insisted that he would not speak at a press conference when Thomas Mueller was also there...said that it would be disrespectful to him to have this "ballboy" there and that he didn't know who he was...NOW HE KNOWS .

Spain will take it all. Hopefully its a Netherlands vs Spain final as I have followed those 2 teams for a while. 2 of the best countries to never win a World Cup both are deserving. Beating Germany will be no easy task, but Spains defense will not allow the Germans to put up the kind of numbers they have been as of late.

The Dutch will have their hands full with Uruguay but losing Suazo will be a big blow for that offense. Sniejder is playing great, and Robben is just hitting form.

Anyways Im going with Spain over Netherlands, 2-2, penalty kicks, Casillas has the game winning save in the shoot out.
