I know Jorge Campos has been listed as GK in '94 - '02 and sometimes was listed as forward, but he never played out in the field, only during friendly matches. Chilavert only makes freekicks, but I haven't ever seen him as a field player. Weird stuff by the Koreans... EPIC FAIL indeed.

Well done on the riling me up, AroundTheWorld, sir. Well played.

An England and Spain final. U.S. losing to Serbia in the quarterfinals...

England, Brazil, Spain and Serbia in the final four.

No, they can't score goals, they do have some quality people on D though, they are probably going stack up on the back side. Highly unlikely they make it to the final four, just because the chances are quite high that they will have to play England in the second round.

Netherlands should be in the final four, they are a really fun team to watch, high tempo offense and crappy defense, makes for great games. Probably going to have to go through Brazil to make it to the final four, will have to see how they do in the group stages to determine if they make it. Brazil this time around has good defense and iffy offense (a lot will be depending on if Robinho is going to show up or not). I don't think Brazil will make it past Netherlands if he disappears, I wouldn't bet on him.

If any African team is likely to make the final four it's Ivory Coast.

What are the odds that they top your group? I'd be willing to bet on it if the price was right.

    Serbia is not that good,

Italy and Germany are both teams that never play good in the group stages but always advance far in the tournament.

    I joined the ESPN predictor.

Mexico played well against Italy, I liked it, but once again the opponent scored on a corner kick! they really need to do something about that!
Next game June 11th South Africa!!

Sort of like how hell froze over when Bulgaria ('94), Croatia ('98), and Korea ('02) made the final four? The WC may not deliver upsets in the final but deep tournament runs by lesser teams are no surprise.

One of the best players in the world likely won't be playing, horrible news. Big fan of Diddy D.

World Cup 2010: Didier Drogba injured in Japan friendly

vory Coast captain Didier Drogba's participation in the World Cup is in serious doubt after he suffered a fractured elbow in a friendly.

The Chelsea striker, 32, picked up the injury 16 minutes into the game after clashing with Japan defender Marcus Tulio Tanaka.

"It's a fracture in his arm. The doctor hasn't said yet whether he can play in the World Cup," said a team spokesman.

Ivory Coast kick off their World Cup campaign against Portugal on 15 June.
"It's an elbow injury. How bad it is, I don't know. He had a lot of pain," said Ivory Coast boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

"Of course I'm worried. He's captain and one of the world's best players."

Drogba, the Premier League's top goalscorer last season, helped open the scoring with a 13th-minute deflected free-kick and Ivory Coast went on to win the game 2-0 with Manchester City defender Kolo Toure also scoring.Drogba, who has scored 44 goals in 69 appearances for his country, is key to Ivory Coast's hopes in South Africa and Eriksson will anxiously await news of his injury.

But the former England boss said he did not blame Tanaka for the incident.

"It was unlucky. It wasn't bad or stupid. He didn't want to hurt anyone. Football is a game of contact," added Eriksson.

Ivory Coast face Brazil, Portugal and North Korea in their World Cup group.

Drogba is an enormous star in his native Ivory Coast and across the whole continent of Africa, and his possible absence would be a significant blow to the tournament.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing. As long as he can get a cast that FIFA allows I'm sure he'd be willing to deal with the pain to be able to play in the World Cup.
