<br> Pretty sure he addressed every point you made with a logical counterargument. No offense, but you're being a dick.
Pretty sure he wasn't adding anything to the game that could help, besides adding stoppage time and controversial ruling that will change how the game flows.
Can you fastforward though the Word Cup for me and tell me who wins? I have a few bets I want to make.
I’m happy with the win. I’m also glad Robben is back. It is strange to see the Netherlands play so conservative, but our defense is not good enough to go all out on attack. Solvakia only god 2 good chances. I never had the feeling we wouldn’t win this game. So I’m happy. And now we can watch the quarter finals against Brazil during my wedding day. At the reception we have a big screen so all the guests at the wedding and me can watch the game. If we win it will be the best wedding ever  I’m confident, brazil is a good team, but so are we. IMHO it is 50-50. We haven’t played great this tournament, but we have been winning. Normally we play great beautiful soccer, but we never won. And we always wanted to be like Italy and Germany who didn’t play great but did win the championship. Now we are like that. Like iI stated before, I think Brazil together with Argentina, Spain and the Netherlands are the favorites. Germany is close and is a good dark horse. I prefer The Netherlands – Germany Of course you didn’t expect Blatter to make a good decision.
Netherlands vs Argentina would be amazing. Brazil vs. Germany was so 2002 and Netherlands vs. Germany makes it seem like I'm watching the Euro cup. Plus it was my finals prediction. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=5287167&postcount=23
This is insane. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FF_kvs6tkpk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FF_kvs6tkpk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> I would fall in love with any team that played like this today.
Always nice to see this. It was an amazing team, but unfortunatly Germany won and 4 years later without Cruijf Argentina beat us. it is a shame we didn't win one WC. Cruijf was an amazing player. And that team really changed the way soccer was played.
I know they played a nice brand of football, but not so sure what is so unusually great about this particular clip (other than the asian spa background music)? I notice that the overall speed of the game was slightly slower than it is nowadays. I think this year we are closer to playing "total football", but Holland is more likely to win the title - if they can get past Brazil. That will be an epic match. arno_ed, hope you will have a wonderful wedding! May Holland win!
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/sport/...ifa-bribery-case-closed-but-questions-remain/ In a development straight from the good-time-to-bury-bad-news school of PR, the prosecuting authorities in the Swiss Canton of Zug this week confirmed that, as they suspected, FIFA officials took bribes. In a development that tells you everything about the flexibility of football’s moral compass, nobody in South Africa apart from FIFA appeared to notice. The statement from the prosecutors’ office marks the end of a long-running criminal investigation into the collapse of the ISL/ISMM Group, the former marketing agent to FIFA, the IOC and the IAAF. The group collapsed with debts of more than £150m in 2001, and prosecutors in Zug have been pursuing allegations that more than £60m was paid in bribes to help secure marketing and TV rights contracts. The prosecutor’s statement this week confirmed that inducements had indeed been paid, but said that “foreign persons” rather than Swiss nationals had been recipients of the money. “Foreign persons of FIFA-institutions have received provisions from the ISL/ISMM,” it said. The individuals who received the money were not named, but as FIFA president Sepp Blatter is a Swiss national the statement appears to absolve him of accepting bribes. Paraguayan FIFA Executive Committee member Nicolas Leoz, who met Prince William and Prince Harry at an FA reception in Johannesburg last week, was named in court in 2008 as having received payments from ISL. Marc Siegwart, one of the judges hearing the case, claimed that one of the defendants in the case admitted that as much as £58 million was paid out by ISL between 1989 and 1999. Given this evidence the fact that the Swiss courts are taking no further action might seem surprising. One reason is that under Swiss law bribery was not an offence at the time of ISL’s collapse. The other is that the accused and those who received the funds have agreed to meet the Swiss courts costs and make a contribution to charity. “In the proceedings the accused have denied criminal responsibility, but not the receiving of the funds,” the court said. “They are, however, willing to pay by the prosecution of redress available to qualified amount of 5.5 million CHF (£3.3million). Part of the restitution payment in the amount of 2.5 million CHF (£1.5 million) is to non-profit organisations. The defendants have also assumed the costs.” FIFA, not wishing to drag attention away from the tournament in South Africa, issued only a brief statement. “FIFA is pleased that the prosecutor of Zug has finalised his investigations which followed the ‘ISL/ISMM case’. “It is important to recall that the decision was made on matters which took place prior to the year 2000 and that there has been no court conviction against FIFA. “In addition, the FIFA President has been cleared of any wrong-doing in this matter. As the investigation and the case are now definitely closed, FIFA will make no further comment.” -------------- I am surprised nobody has put this in context with the refusal of Blatter and FIFA so far to allow video technology review. I personally am not insinuating that this played any role in the two erroneous decisions in the Germany and Mexico games, but I would have thought someone would bring it up.
“I apologized to England and Mexico,” Blatter said. “The English said ‘thank you’ and accepted that you can win and you lose, and the Mexicans bowed their head and accepted it.” He also said he would renew discussions about technology to determine if a goal was scored, as was the case in the England-Germany game, but not video replay that would have ruled out the Argentina goal against Mexico. “The only principle we are going to bring back for discussion is goal-line technology,” Blatter said. “For situations like the Mexico game you don’t need technology.” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/30/sports/soccer/30ref.html
Thanks, I will  And after that the Honeymoon to Madagascar, the only problem is that I'm in the air when the final will be played Ofcourse he willrenew discussions about technology, just so that he can refuse it again. I'm pretty annoyed by the whole situation. I believe it is unfair that goals are allowed that shouldn't be, and the otherway around. I want the best team to win. It is bad when an mistake by a ref causes the other team to win.
I'll proudly be displaying my orange and black this Friday. I work with quite a few Brazillians, so it should be interesting. Go Dutch!
By the way, talking about weddings, I think I mentioned this, but I had tickets for Germany vs. Argentina and am flying to South Africa, but because I have to attend my cousin's wedding in Germany on Sat. 3rd of July, I am not going to the match.
Seriously, your cousin had to schedule the wedding DURING the world cup?? Your cousin must really not care about soccer, if not the wedding would've been after. Sorry for your loss. Btw anyone have any news about the fate of the sucky refs??
If I had tickets to the Brazil-the Netherlands game I wouldn't attend my own wedding  (my Fiance doesn't read this Forum, so i can say it :grin. And If anybody who was coming to my wedding had tickets I wouldn't expect them to come to my wedding, and expect them to go to the match. Are you close with this cousin?
Hey, haven't you read my posts I care about soccer. sometimes you cannot schedule it at another time.
