There is not a simple way to stop play either. Let's say, the ball hit the cross bar, might bounce in or not, we don't know, then it bounces out, if play is allowed to continue an attacker can score. If you blow the whistle, you'd take away his chances. It's more than just a restart, there are other things that could happen, you have not addressed them. Why do you stop reviewing with x minutes to go? It's the most important time. Why do you limit to goal only? Fouls that lead to PK, offside that affect goal scoring chances are just a few things that are important. You can not institute a system that only correct 1 of 5, 6 problems, it's not worth it.
W H A T ??????? Why not get the train started and fix what you can, and then move on to the other problems? This is a solvable issue. DD
If you hurry to get a train to start before you perfect it and it kills someone, you essentially have destroyed your chance of improving it later.
KaKa has played like, well, cacka, and still brazil leads 3-0. it's a little scary how good they could be.
I am telling y'all. Just use 5 officials. It does not offset or change the game, continuity, how the process is done ... They are simply extra sets of eyes.
They are looking like they are hitting their stride. Could be a scary time for other teams if they are getting hot right now.
Brazil looks like an A squad scrimmaging against the B squad. Chile was playing pretty well coming into this game, too, weren't they?
Which issue do YOU want fixed, DaDakota? In the last few 20 years, only a few minor details have changed in respect to the game, and ALL OF THEM have added major benefits to the game (PLAY BALL). 1. Goalkeeper cannot touch the ball with his hands after teammate has returned it. 2. Goalkeeper cannot keep the ball in his possession more than five seconds. As far as I know, these have helped football have MORE competition than less. Help the game by instituting a rule change that DOES NOT take away from the game, if you will, please. Don't try to stop people from playing. EDIT: rage, I just saw your simple suggestion of 5. I agree. There need to be two linesmen added: one for each side of the touch lines where there currently aren't linesmen. This will fill the void .
Weak assed argument...they already stop playing whenever they are laying on the ground writhing in faux pain. Stop the play to review a goal, if it happens and there is a controversial play, play on...until the ball goes out or play is stopped and review the play at that point. Simply brilliant...I know...I know.... DD
They played decent, their 2 wins came against inferior competition in my opinion. Honduras and Switzerland. The only major match up they had which was against Spain, they lost.
Wrong.....there is no fail, they already STOP the play, or...hey, in Swolyland, maybe they should NEVER stop the play, no whistles, no out of bounds throw ins...just make it one humongous pitch and let them ....PLAY on. Oh, wait, they already stop play, so just take advantage of those times, so you don't disrupt the action. CASE CLOSED !! DD
