The US will sell out every game. They still have the attendance records from 1994 and no reason why they couldnt top those with much larger interest in soccer today. Finding people to sit in a stadium is not a problem of the US. Like I said, there's no reason not to have Mexico host some games but there's no reason to have them either. Other countries had economic incentives to share the burden because of stadium construction and other costs. That incentive doesnt exist since the US has 100% of its infrastructure already built.
MAN, I can't keep up with the ball moving from player to player... this game is moving extremely FAST!!!! While there's no disagreement that there is no problem with this, you can't disagree that it is mostly people from OUTSIDE the United States and immigrants buying the tickets because most of those come from places that love soccer. It's usually full of Mexicans, anyway. No? There are a bunch more people who would rather pay LESS to stay in a hotel in Mexico than one in the US... and travel to there would be much cheaper... I can see dollar signs for FIFA, but they get most of that from advertisers, not people. OMGoodness... ESPaƱa running away with this... and the game is being played evenly! GOLAZO.
Should have been a penalty. That wasn't shoulder to shoulder nor was it 50/50. Nevermind...doesn't matter now that they just scored again....and Chile goes to 10. Could Chile get knocked out?
That was a horrible call by the ref. Granted he probably should have gotten another yellow on that other challenge but still that one was weak.
Very weak. After a great first game by this ref, he's making some questionable calls today. Switzerland has made up the tiebreaker with Chile and will pass them if they can get a a goal...
Player already had a yellow card (was cautioned) before... should have stayed away from even touching Torres. I think it's questionable... but you can't just trip another player. Notice how he didn't even argue the call.
yes it is weak especially when there was also a goal. I hope Chile will advance and not switzerland. Chile might miake it difficult for Brazil.
Exactly, that was stupid of Torres to stay down when on such a good attack. What if there was no other player to pass to. He should have stayed in the attack. It's not like he was anywhere near the penalty area to have dove and stayed down that long.
CHILE... showing us beautiful defense to stop the Spaniards... great football. I like this game. I am enjoying watching CHILE's roaring comeback. I hope they make it to the next round. This is entertaining. We can't even tell they're a man down and they're giving us a great attacking/defending lesson. I am enjoying watching their midfielders come back to help out on D.
