Australia has no chance, man... BELIEVE IT! Even with a win... they'd have to win by like... 120938123081643264...
congrats to usa for going through. watched the second half and that injury time goal was amazing. im glad england and usa got through.
That American goal at the end was just amazing... from start to finish. The goalkeeper outlet pass that started it completely reminded me of how Otis Thorpe would start a fast break... but this was just so much bigger than a single basket. Our whole office was celebrating...
I've NEVER emotionally erupted like....screaming at a sports event on TV in my life. I was already all over the USA matches....but now I'm HOOKED like never before.
TIM HOWARD earned the USA's first "shutout" since 2002... ummm... the score was 2-0... in the Round of 16... don't remind me.
Why this is so important is because ALL of America is watching, and the last thing we want is to give all the doubters another reason to go..."Well soccer sucks because...."... Instead, team USA gave them "Soccer is great because, just like America, we don't give up" !!! I will guess millions more people are gonna be fans of the sport in the USA, and ESPN and the MLS are probably going... YESSSSSS !!! DD
Honestly? Thinking about it. Ya. I screamed and jumped around with the 13 in 33....but this is win or go home. Not an every day game. So, my feelings were so much stronger for this goal. Hell, maybe even over the Jeff Kent HR during the stros playoff run, or the 18 inning win....
I yelled a lot today...much more on the line than a regular season game. In that particular Rockets game, I was speechless but knew I had seen something special. Today's game was the equal of Mario Elie's kiss of death or Dream's block of John Starks. This was a HUGE moment in a HUGE environment..... DD
These games have been so dramatic. Anyone that was watching should respect/like soccer a little bit more. With the England match and the mistake by green...then the big come back against Slovenia and the big mistake by the referee...till finally not scoring for 90 minutes then dramatically scoring the goal to win the match. As it was said during the celebration, Hollywood could not have scripted it better.
