No way Edu should be playing center back. It'll be a contest with him and Clark to see who pairs next to Bradley in central-mid. Holden looked good and for the first time I thought Ching looked good as well. Our defense is by far the biggest concern with: 1) Gooch still injured 2) Boca having hernia surgery 3) DeMeritt having depth-perception problems.

Goodson looked good yesterday but still made some costly mistakes on defense. He's strong in the air though and hopefully that can be negated once he has more quality next to him. Spector will really have to step it up from a string of terrible performances at West Ham to nail down a starting spot.

At this rate, England will score 7 goals against the U.S. :(

USA just announced their 23 players.

Goalkeepers- Tim Howard, Marcus Hahnemann, Brad Guzan

Defenders- Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu, Jay DeMerit, Steve Cherundolo, Jonathan Spector, Clarence Goodson, Jonathan Bornstein

Midfielders- Landon Donovan, Michael Bradley, Stuart Holden, Maurice Edu, Ricardo Clark, DaMarcus Beasley, Benny Feilhaber, Jose Francisco Torres

Forwards- Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Herculez Gomez, Edson Buddle, Robbie Findley

I'm amazed that Findley made the team over Ching.

I figured the reason Findley didn't play last night was because they already knew he was out. I guess it was completely the other way around. I thought Ching was a lock. He looked very good last night. I'm not surprised that Rogers didn't make it...not with Beasley being around.

I don't think those 2 were going to make or break the team.

Yeah I'm pretty terrified of our defense right now. Our talent level as a whole isnt making me very happy right now.

    Gooch? Really?

The guy looked slow, and scared, he needs games on the pitch to get ready........and that will take more than 2 weeks....

I am not that confident, I think Swoly might be owning my sig for a couple of weeks.

Findley is not even a full-time starter on an MLS team, I find it hard to believe he is gonna compete much on the world stage

Yeah, I really had the USA as a strong candidate for the quarter finals, but the way that defense is looking and with Onyewu still not fully healed Rooney and Lampard will shred them to tatters.

The first half Netherlands played with Mexico a lot, could have ended very badly. The second half Mexico played better, after the Mexico's goal, it seemed like they could scored another goal, they had a momentum going, but it didnt happen.

The lineup up front: should be Dos Santos. Hernandez "the little pea" :) and Blanco in the first half and Vela in the second half.

Mexico played better the second half. The netherlands had trouble with the good agressive play of Mexico. They deserved the 2-2. But it didn't happen.

I was happy with Van persie, he seemed to be fit, and playing well. My gues is he will be our striker (to bad for Huntelaar). Affelay also played great, he will not see much playing time during the WC but I like him as a player.

Schaars, Engelaar, Braafheid and Anita didn't impress me. But 2 of them will make the team (either Schaars or Engelaar and Braafheid or Anita). I know Engelaar and Schaars can play better but they really had difficulties witht he agresion of Mexico.

The final roster will be announced today. I fear for, Vlaar, Braafheid, Lens and Engelaar.

Ok I got 3 out of the 4 right.
Vlaar, Anita, Lens and Engelaar will not be part of the team.
