Well, after 30 minutes, it looks like I am way off with my prediction...

Horrible call against the USA yesterday, and i've been trying to figure out what he called and the only thing that comes to mind is Dempsey in the left corner, check it out. He pushes the defender...

    Ok that wasn't boring :(

We have the ball most of the time, but cannot create. We haven't been dangerous. Japan will let us come and 1 counter can be enough. Still I think we will win. Elia wil probably come on in the second half in the 60th minute.

Teams that win games like that eventually go on to win it all.

Something is wrong with the Dutch team, though...very strange that they would immediately take the foot off the pedal once they score one.

I think they were saddened when Sarah Palin noted that the USA is not asking for their dike advice to help plug the Gulf Oil gusher.

I think one of the reasons why the so-called underdogs are not dominated as much as they used to be in former times is that players move so much to the top top leagues in the world...30 years ago or so, no Japanese player would have played in Europe, so they would be overwhelmed by the level of competition at the world cup. Nowadays, players from different countries know each other so much better from having played together and against each other in the top leagues.

    :(
We just didn't care until that goal, and even then our offense isn't that great. Really annoying, given that we seemed to care more then the Dutch in the second half.
    Need to beat the Danes.

The Dutch are my favorites to win the title. Netherlands and Argentina.

the dutch did not play like contenders but they are in an easy group. maybe they turn it on in the knockout round. they look too complacent.

Actually, the game today made it MORE likely to me that they will win the title.
