Good stuff, I know some referees that the NBA should consider axing, as well. Stern will never do it though.

and just to get waaaaaaaay ahead of myself here. if we were to win that game we would potentially play uruguay, mexico, argentina, korea republic, or greece.

if the US wouldnt have to play germany or argentina they could make the final 4. or if the cards fell right the US could end up playing mexico to get into the semifinal. if we beat mexico at that point the country could end up falling in on it self        (those are for you swoly)

I got this sneaky feeling England is going to miss out. US wins, Slovenia gets a draw and goodbye.

I haven't seen it mentioned since it happened, but the yellow card on Findley for a handball (it hit him in the face) that forces him out of the next match was BS too.

The refree blew it and he will and should be held accountable.

However, ESPN's continuous non-stop coverage about the incident reeks of hypocrisy to me.

I have had to live with years and years of unaccountable bad calls by NBA refs. Let me see ESPN call out NBA refs and David Stern in particular.

And please stop with the sob story about how calls like these are the reasons why soccer hasn't become popular in USA. That's weak sauce if I ever saw it.

We like fast cars, fast games, and fast food. Sitting through 90 minutes of a game with a 0-0 possible outcome is not too appealing to most of the Americans.

Nice comeback of the US, too bad they got robbed by the referee, I was rooting for the US.

The England game was soooo boring.

It was a bad decisions by the refs. This is the reason why I want video replay's for refs. Because these type of decisions effect the entire game/tournament. On the other hand the US should have played with 10 players after the elbow by Dempsey in the first minute. These things happen.

The USA willl probably advance, they just have to Beat Algeria. England is just playing terrible. But many of the good nations are playing bad.

Looking forward to the game this afternoon. lets beat Japan.

Hey leave us out of it , It seems that this time there is little internal conflict. But you re right internal conflict and penalties has stopped us from winning a WC for 40 years.

 LOL @ all the ifs.

Dudes, for all that to happen, you first have to:
    Hope that you win.
    Hope someone else doesn't win.
    Hope Mexico wins
Hope that you beat someone else in the round of 16 (Germany, Serbia, etc.)
Hope that Mexico beats someone else in the round of 16 (Arg, Greece, Nigeria)
Hope that... oh, man... come on... even I'm hoping all that happens and, yes, we meet again, Kenobi. ;) Possible.

I'll be rooting for Japan, after we beat him. If Honda scores against us I'll be mad at VVV for training him so well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again and again.

England are way overrated. They do not have any particular strength as a team (attack? defense? counter attack? passing? maybe long shots?), and they do not have true star players other than Rooney.

The team is overhyped because the EPL is the most televised league, the most advertised league and packed with international stars.

But we'll keep hearing about the disappointment of England because they believe the World Cup has to "come home" to England.

I'm rooting for Slovenia and Algeria to win their games. Turn the group upside down  .

Lampard and Gerrard are star players, too, they are the stars for their teams at the highest level in Europe.

About the game today: I expect the Netherlands to win 5-0.
