Bad d by England there...leaving Marquez all alone. EDIT...he's right. can't be in an offsides position after the ball hits the post. So, it just depends on where he was when the ball hit the crossbar.
Just have it frozen on screen it looks like Crouch is even with his defender or slightly onside on the shot.....no offside, IMO. And certainly hard to make that call....if there was one to be made. DD
Well, England's D has been lazy and risky all game so I'm not surprised. I guess we're in for a shootout.
On ROONEY's header. Watch it again, sir. A header is a pass. Crouch was ahead of Rodriguez just before it hit the crossbar. Now do you all see?
You know what, I just did, I stand corrected, you are right he is offside on the header. A bit of fortune for England. You guys should honestly be winning handily right now. DD
The size-speed advantage of Crouch-Rooney will be a nightmare for U.S. defenders, who are about the same size as Mexico's defense w/o the skill. Hopefully Gooch, at 6'4, can mark Crouch but I have my doubts. Either way, go USA & Mexico this summer
I think Gooch can handle him because of his sheer size. He has the height and muscle to keep Crouch out of position on free kicks...if he's healthy. England's defense is looking very shaky, though. They're making some silly mistakes that the likes of Donovan and Dempsey can take advantage of.
GOLAZO!!! You're outta here, "Conejo" Perez. Not enough height and springs. Ochoa or even Míchel would have gotten a piece of that shot.
Does anyone else think that Rooney is going to say "Hey! I know YOU. You're dead! We killed you! [gun shots]" ??? SPEED and AGILITY now. Guardado is in. We'll get one more.
I love you, Cuauhtémoc. I Love you, man. I LOVE IT, man... lots of "OooOooleeeee"... and "P*TO!" when the ENG keeper restarts... plenty of Mexican fans there... LOL!
I am happy overall with today's performance from my Mexican team. We are making some serious mistakes on defense and lacked the height and opportunistic killer instincts that England's strikers had. No way Oscar Perez starts... and I will assume we'll see Guardado in the games more than today. Hernandez will start, too. With Beckham back, England should have more-than-precise passing ability to find enough holes to exploit opponents. Watch out, USA... England won't take it easy on ya. I am predicting a 4-0.
Beckham is out with a torn Achilles and will miss the World Cup. Still, it would be a major upset if the US were to pull off a win.
