Why are you against using instant replay? Please don't say because it will slow down the game. The France-Ireland game came to a complete stop for around 3 minutes while the Henry handball was argued. It would not have taken that long for replay to overturn the goal.

Thought this was funny, plus something nice to look at as well.

Co-host for Friday's World Cup draw Charlize Theron played a little joke on FIFA during a rehearsal on Wednesday for the event. Says the Irish Independent:

Ms Theron, whose long-term partner is Irish actor Stuart Townsend, pulled out the 'Ireland' ball instead of a 'France' ball. But, unlike much of the rest of the world, Ms Theron was not laughing at us.
Instead, she was having a laugh at FIFA's expense after Ireland's failed bid to become the 33rd team at the event.

"Yes, she did, but it was only a joke," FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke said.

All right, so jokes about Thierry Henry/the handball/Ireland are getting a little tedious, but that's pretty brilliant. And it also makes you think ... since there is now an Ireland ball floating around out there, what if she does it again (accidentally or otherwise) during the real thing?

Come on, Charlize -- a joke during rehearsal is one thing, but pulling it off during an international broadcast is what World Cup draw co-hosting legends are made of.

Slovenia is no patsy. It will be a tough group, but one I believe we can get out of.

I really like this. This is a nice way to show our football. France and Uruguay will be really tough... I see MEXICO and SOUTH AFRICA getting out of that group.
Lucked out of what? I LOVE the big stage, sir. I like the opening game.
