yeah, who understands why people root for a guy from houston who helped a storied program when if first national championship in over 30 years and had one of the best seasons ever by a college player and went on to win rookie of year.

    yeah, totally not understandable

I understand why people like him. What I DON'T understand is the rabid obsession and absolute depression over the fact he doesn't play for the Texans.

If you like him, great. But, for Christ sake, get the hell over last year's draft.

Once again, my nuts are really needing a good blasting right about now.

Perhaps everyone can line up and spray them with Nair first and then after 10 minutes just kick the living **** out of them.

    Let go.

well if the texans didn't look like clowns and get rid of the qb they decided to keep it wouldn't be so bad. but for christ sake you get over people not getting over it.

Considering that the Texans, above all, seem to succeed in being both mediocre on the field and bland off it, I don't see a lot of conversational fodder that is being overlooked in any event.

It's been 15 months. I'd hate to see some of these people try to get over something that really matters in life.

"Some people never get over 'Nam or the night their band opened for Nirvana. I guess some of you will never get over Vince Young not being a Texan."

It is right now the most notable accomplishment in the history of the franchise. It is the Texans fault for giving people nothing to talk about. If the Rockets had just sucked and been boring for years since 1986, you better believe peope would talk about them passing up michael jordan for years.

I feel sorry for people like that. I really do.

But that does explain how every Rockets call I hear on sports radio discusses passing on Rashard Lewis. I mean, the Rockets haven't won a playoff series in over a decade and they passed on a hometown guy three times!! It all makes sense now.

For real fans, the most notable accomplishment is beating the Cowgirls in their first ever regular season game. Sad, but at least it's not pining over a division rival's QB.

Wow, truly? well your pity is probably better served for starving orphans and stray dogs and extinct Yangtze River Dolphins.

I get the feeling that the would-be objects of your pity will continue on without your innate ability to bleed BATTLE RED.

Rashard Lewis hasn't won a playoff series either, and the Rockets have had at least 3 better players than Lewis suit up since then. Likewise the Rockets have been about a thousand times more exciting of a franchise than the boring-ass texans, without even winning playoff series, what with Yao, etc, not to mention fabulously successful in recent years overall, compared to the moribund Texans.

Caserly hatred is only topped by the Mario draft
It is all his OTHER DRAFTS that made you hate him

I don't get obsession of people who dislike Vince Young to just find the need to read and comment in and thereby extend every Vince Young thread that they claim to hate so much. It seems their obsession with railing on VY supporters is just as bad as the VY supporters obsession with VY.

I am saddened by this post, namely that there are people who feel sorry for those who pity those who lament Vince Young not being a Texan.

You really turned the tables with this post. I feel so guilty for posting in this thread now. :( :(

SamFisher, why don't you like the Texans? I really wish you did because I just can't cheer for them with a clear conscious, knowing that you don't approve.

I don't get the obsession of people who dislike anti-VYOFs to just find the need to read and comment in and thereby extend every Vince Young thread containing anti-VYOFs they claim to hate so much. It seems their obsession with railing on anti-VYOFs is just as bad as the anti-VYOFs obsession with VYOFs. But not nearly as bad as VYOFs. :D

Actually, I don't like those people either. See, I like Vince Young. I wish he wasn't a Titan and that he was a Texan. But I knew that wasn't going to happen 15 months ago. I got over it. Hell, in 15 months, I'll be over my divorce, yet you still have people not over this.

And for the record, I don't mind VY supporters if that's what they really are. It's those who constantly bash the Texans for not taking him. Pick a team, root for them, and move on. It's not that hard.

the real question is would Houston want the 'Oilers/Titans' back as their team?
just like Cleveland (except the kept their name), I'm sure they want the Superbowl team with Ray Lewis than the Tim Couch led team anyday of the week.

I think that Bud really screwed Houston by keeping the Oiler name. Now they are stuck with a generic Texan name team. This is worse than the pajama jerseys that the Rockets had to wear. At least they can always change the jerseys instead of the name.

Who wouldn't want Eddie George, McNair and that team in Houston?
