On a serious note though, why not? I don't see any harm in putting soccer threads in here as well.

Then why not also put baseball threads? Hockey? Golf?

I still believe that this should be an "other sports" forum and not just a football forum, but as it is, this thread doesn't belong here.

Soccer is not violent enough to be in this forum. Rugby is.

    Chelsea and Tottenham split one.

Very big game tomorrow on ESPN (around 2 pm central), Arsenal vs Manchester United. Standings are currently:

    Arsenal - 32
    Man City - 32
    Man United - 31
    Chelsea - 31

Bogus red flag to Sagna, Arsenal could have easily won that game with him.

Bit of news from the Rooney family:

    http://communities.washingtontimes....1/jan/4/wayne-rooneys-brother-john-signs-mls/

Right now he's projected to be a mid first round pick to early second round. SBNation has him going 19th (first pick of the second round) in their new mock draft. I wouldn't be surprised if he went earlier because his name alone is definitely going to draw fans and media attention.

Chelsea...man wtf is going on with them?

Oh well, the title really doesn't matter, been there, done that.

It's time for Chelsea to finally get that Champions League trophy, though Barcelona will be hard to beat.

Manchester United is going to win the EPL.

Down 2-0 in the 72nd minute @ Blackpool...and win, again.

Berbatov is simply dominating right now.

Very disappointed. But ManU will slip up, sooner or later. They play Chelsea twice in the coming weeks. That said, I can't deny that right now they are so dominant defensively that the league is theirs to lose (today notwithstanding).

    The Invincibles?

I think Liverpools signing of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll should spruce up the team.

Chelsea trying to make it far in Champions League however I dont see El NiƱo playing a big role. But who knows? He didn't play well for Spain in the world cup; for a team he wanted to play.

Can't wait for round of 16 to start.

    ManU 2-0 vs A.Villa today.

As a Chelsea fan, if Nando can take us to the champions league title once, it will be all worth it.

I think they realize that the team is aging and they needed to do something big in order to remain in contention.

With this move, not only do they get younger and better, but they also inject new life into the club.

Younger yeah but at 27, only young compared to the Dinosaurs roaming Stamford Bridge. And not exactly an iron-man also

They need somebody to replace Lampard & Terry. it wasn't up front where they have issues, it's down the middle.
