Hey, don't get too down, it is a lonnnng season and teams have been known to make runs. Man-U for example, started very badly last season and made a nice run to pressure Chelsea to the end.

Liverpool had a nice win today but Chelsea and Man-U won as well...Rooney had a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Bolton!!! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. The Chronicle had very true article on him the other day. He is only 21 but has been so up and down with injuries and temper problems that he may never live up to his potential. I hope not, b/c he has the ability to be one of the greats.

Thanks, I was over it by the next day. Trust me, knee-jerk reactions aren't my thing at all, but it's soooooooooo hard after a loss to Man U. Especially without putting up a fight :( Anyway, we're no stranger to slow starts too. The same thing happened to Liverpool last season.. I read somewhere that if all results from just the first month were discounted, we'd have won the Premiership. Oh well..

Liverpool have beaten Reading 2-0 at home with Man of the Match Kuyt grabbing a brace.. the 4th and 5th goals of his Anfield career. Man U roll on in the league with a 3-0 home win against Portsmouth (the opening goal was a penalty that really shouldn't have been awarded, but this isn't the first time something like that has happened at Old Trafford :p). Everton lose 1-0 to Fulham while a very sorry Boro team crashes 2-0 at Watford, courtesy of a Woodgate own goal

Anyone else catch the biggest game of the season so far: Man U vs Chelsea, #1 vs #2. Turned out to be a very good game. Both teams with many chances.

Saha is very skillfull, but I still say Man U was better off with Ruud. He scored a brilliant goal but made key mistakes during the game. I can't fault the deflection off his head for the goal b/c he had to make an attempt on the ball since he did not know Van Dersaar dove and could have saved it. It's just all the other little things he does that lead to blown opportunities and mental lapses where he makes bad decisions with the ball in his own half that leads to other teams chances.

Oh well, neither team gained or lossed ground. Many U still in first ahead by 3 points.

Missed the match. I would have preferred a Chelsea win.. a draw is good enough. But don't get me wrong, I hate the Blues just as much as the next guy

Here is how a Liverpool fan reasons: If Chelsea complete their hat-trick of league titles, we can just chalk it up to Roman's millions and say they bought the title. If Man U win their.. what is it, 16th title?.. they will be just two behind my beloved Reds :(

Fergie is awesome.. I really have to hand it to him. Can't wait till he retires :p Anyway, Man U have really surprised me this season. I thought - just like everyone else - they would struggle due to the loss of Ruud and the lack of a deep squad. Still think the latter will hurt them, though.. we'll see

I HATE Chelsea. They have the Dream Team, yet struggle to win games and play a piss poor style. They don't play with any kind of flair or beauty, but I guess sometimes winning is all that matters.

I hated on him for getting rid of Rudd and overpaying for Carrick but he is a great manager. I know he still regrets getting rid of Ruud.

    Great news...they are signing Laarson!!!

    Laarson to Man U

I don't think they regret losing Ruud. They seem to be playing a little more freely, especially without him clogging up the middle. They're creating more out of the midfield because they aren't forced to play to his feet and watch him attempt to turn no matter where he is or what the situation is. They do happen to be leading the league in goals scored as well. Laarson should only help. He's been one of my favorites for a long time. I'm glad to see him with ManU.

I know there are some Spuds fans on the bbs. Found this and have to admit it is pretty damn funny: I Love Martin Jol On the right you can listen to the song 'I Love Martin Jol' set to Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock N Roll.'

Exactly. United have been a much better team this season witout Ruud, than they were in the past couple of seasons with him.

Ok this has not been the week for dutch soccer. especially for me as a feyenoord fan, I think we will get a major penalty for what happened in France this week. Why are there such idiots  . Feyenoord will have a bad rep for a long time.
sorry just wanted to add this.

I'm happy with the liverpool win.

I always hope that liverpool and arsenal win(even without the dutch players, so not an entire KOF :D ). And now i want Man U to win, because i fear they are the only team that can beat chelsea in the race for the championship.

That's cause they are healthier. I like Saha but he makes too many mental mistakes. He gives the ball away in crucial situations. As long as they're in first and keep winning that is good with me, just didn't think they needed to get rid of Ruud just yet.

It's all good cause my boy Ruud is tearing it up in La Liga and the Champions League. If Man-U or Barca don't win it, I hope Real does, as much as I do not like Real.

Sure. You gotta admire the time the guy put into it, lol. Personally I like Jol a lot even though I'm an Arsenal fan. He seems to be a straight shooter.

They certainly are healthier than they have been in the past few years. Giggs is playing like he's 10 years younger. I just think Ruud clogged up too much of their game. I think he is a fantastic goal scorer, maybe the best in the world. He just didn't fit Man U's style, especially with Ronaldo on the pitch. Without him, space is much more easily created and it's paying huge dividends. Laarson can be that finisher they need but without taking up the space that Ruud commands.

Liverpool climb to third place with a 3-0 win at The Valley, and are now firmly back in business.. 11 goals scored in our last three league games, none conceded. Plus, we have yet to entertain Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton at Anfield.. bring on the second half of the season! :)

Firmly back in business? Pool are 13 points behind United, who still have a game in hand. This is a two horse race, and you're not in it. And beating the likes of Charlton, Fulham and Wigan isn't exactly something to be proud about.

Aww, don't be contentious. Did I say we were going to win it? We're back in the top four, which is where we belong. And that is called being back in business, after the torrid half-season we've had to endure - especially away from home. Plus, if you've never seen a 12-15 point lead at Christmas disappear by May, then you've never watched football

Our five losses are all away losses, and to the likes of Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and Thug FC (aka Bolton).. not exactly something to be ashamed of either. Come to Anfield, then we'll talk :p

If you haven't watched Cristiano Ronaldo play in the last two months, I'm sorry, you're missing quite possibly the best player in the world at the moment. I have never been a big fan of his, mainly due his lack of end product and all his diving but it looks like the World Cup has really made him grow up. He's been on fire lately and has been named the Premiership player of the month, for both November and December. He now has 13 goals and 9 assists in 25 games this season.

**** Blackburn and **** Robbie Savage. Arsenal up 1-0 at the half, despite Gilberto getting sent off for retaliating after a hard foul and a cheap shot from Savage
