Yeah, Bomar's skillset is perfect for the SHSU offense. Should be fun to watch. I hope he plays with a chip on his shoulder all year long. He should know that you CAN make it to the NFL via Sam Houston, just like Josh McCown did.

I'm going to make it to a game this year. Been saying that for 4 years now, but this time I mean it. Apparently, the atmosphere is totally different than it was when I was a student there. People actually tailgate, student side is full, and even the alum are starting to show up.

    Is this a homer thread?

    Go Pokes!!

Upset of the year - Cowboys over Longhorns - 11/3 - Boone Pickens Stadium. Mark your calendars.

    Bobby Reid for Heisman!!

And my other school? Lamar will go undefeated again, extending their winning streak to 16 years.

LOL, nice. Not sure about the winning streak, but you can't argue with the fact that they haven't lost a game in that span... :D

They won their last game in 1989. So I guess that makes it an 18 year winning streak.

Whole lot of talk of the Big 12...pretty cool for the 4th best conference in the country.

You mean they won their first game that year? (first in the winning streak? )

    Go Miners!

Trevor Vittatoe, redshirt freshman (and 5A state champion) from Euless Trinity will be getting the majority of the snaps, with QB/WR Lorne Sam seeing some action behind center as well. Our offense should be damn explosive...we have crazy depth at both WR and RB, but our defense would cause us some problems. Depth at CB could be a big issue, that and the fact that they just aren't that great. We do have very good safeties, though, and our linebackers are top notch. Lots of new faces on the d-line, which is hopefully a good thing after how bad it was last year.

I'm predicting an 8-4 season after last years disapointment.

Keep clinging to 4 years ago. I'll admit you destroyed us (we did suck that season).

You should admit our defense demolished you last year. I was at the game as well and our defense owned you. 200 passing yards. 38 rushing yards. Pressure on almost every play. Face it. It's okay, Fatty, I would be embarrassed too with all of the $hit you talked, along with your excuses afterwards. All those Tech fans talking crazy $hit before the game started in at the tailgates, only to make sorry excuses after the game ended

Damn lies! That would mean people would stay in town after a night of $.50 drinks at the Fox.

I'm glad to hear that, though. I was last in town 2 years ago for the men's soccer alumni game. Much seemed the same except that they moved Zach's and there's a McDonalds in front of the Fox. I would like to go to a game. I'll probably try and make the Texas St. one since my brother is alum of there and a former player for them.

They were picked as the preseason #1 in the conference and are #20 (I think) in the national polls. Bomar should do well and they have a lot returning. GO KATS!

You're right. Lamar won the last football game it played, which happened to be in 1989.

I'm starting to get just a little bit excited about this. :)

HD being installed Saturday morning, just in time for a day full of college football, beer drinking and grilling.

Doubtful. One of my best friends is an avid TCU fan, so we went to the game together. Both of us agreed afterwards it was a miserable showing for both teams.

But, hey! If that's a game you want to cherish for your team, they must be worse than I thought.

I was at the same game..might have been the most boring college football game I've ever been to. For Tech to get shut out of the endzone was very dissapointing, and it was hot as **** on the top level of the stadium.

Ummm...we play in the Mountain West. Of course I'm going to cherish beating Big 12 teams...not too exciting playing BYU and Utah!
