That was a collapse of epic proportions by the US after the first goal. Up to that point I thought it was a pretty entertaining game with both teams attacking and pretty evenly played. After the goal the US was playing scared and Mexico sensed it and went for the jugular.

I' am a Mexico fan, mainly because I was introduced to the game by my uncles in Mexico when I was a kid, so I've been following and rooting for EL Tri for like 20 years now.

This was a HUGE confidence booster and it looks like the coach is starting to find the players that have chemistry (don't know why it took so long to pair Giovani and Vela). To me, the Aug.12 game is more important and a MUCH more difficult one. If the US team send the same lineup they put out during the Confederations cup, they should be the favorite to win. I like the new team Mexico has right now though.

I don't agree, I think Mexico at home in Azteca stadium is still favored....as a USA fan, I would be happy with a draw there.

Find it funny how bandwagoners appear out of no where.

It was a good game for MEX.

Hopefully USA will bring a full squad, something like they had in South Africa on 8/12.

Still, MEX should be favored because of the games location.

I don't know if you are talking about me as one of those but I have always rooted for Mexico since I was a kid. I don't know much about the team and only know a few of the players that played but I don't bandwagon, I've always rooted for MEX win or lose.

Just getting a rise out of someone, that is all. Appearently you bit the bait. And there is nothing sore about me my friend, I am pleased with the direction US Soccer is going, I like all the youth coming into the national attention.

Was not long ago that the US 2nd/3rd team wouldnt have even made it as far as they did in this tourney. Hell, we used to play our first teams just to keep it respectable.

It will be a better game in August. I doubt our 1st team Defense (especially Onyewu) will get caught having to play an amature Offside Trap against the Mexicans. Hell, we were having to bring Brian Ching, a striker, back as an extra defender because of the lack of confidence Bradley had in our defense.

Sore loser? I would have had the same "meh" reaction if the US would have won...as I said in my post. I honestly watched very little of this tournament. Much of the US roster played their 1st and last caps. I do expect better, but I honestly don't care who won the game...other than I always like to see mexico lose.

Yeah, that Confed Cup run was nothing.

Also, who gives a s*** about the name anymore? That argument is tired. Go find something even more pointless to b**** about.

Gee, swoly, you got me there. I remember Davy Arnaud's fantastic play in the Confed...nope. I still remember Troy Perkins fabulous save in that World Cup qualifier against...uhhh. But remember the time that Jay Heaps played that great game in the...hmmm.

I may have exaggerated about the lack of experience of the US team in this tournament...but the fact is many of the players got their chance and it's not likely many of them will ever see regular national team duty. This, outside of Brian Ching, was at best the third string team. A bunch of hopeful's for the NEXT World Cup cycle.

No excuses for losing 5-0. mexico was simply the better team yesterday.

^ Not. Next time don't lie, sir. Accept defeat humbly and stop whining.

LIAR. So you BASK in the glory of beating us in 2007 to get to play in 2009 and get a good finish in the Confed, but now you use it as a STUPID excuse to lose at home because "we don't have experienced players"? Like it's Mexico's fault you lost 5-0.

    Oh, wait, it is.

The Gold Cup is a ****ing joke.

5-0 was nothing short of an embarrassment, but I like the direction US soccer is going.

Winning the Gold Cup is like having sex with an uggo. Yeah, you got some... but I mean, c'mon.
