Don't forget that 1,2, & 3 lost that week as well. They only really jumped Alabama.

You guys are foolish if you really think tech is going to win. I don't want to start a flame war so I will be back here after the game when all your faces look like this

It's going to be a tough battle for Texas but I honestly believe the stars are aligned this year for texas to make it to the national championship. This team is playing harder and more focused than I have ever seen from a texas team.

Playing in lubbock makes this game very tough, the fans will be going crazy and Colt needs to play like he has all season and limit the turnovers to one or less.

    Prediction-

    Texas - 48

    Tech- 35

This honestly is a win win situation for Tech football team. Of course the fans and players want to beat Texas, but if we don't we weren't suppose to. Texas is one of the top recruiting states in college football, Texas Tech maybe top 20, yet are currently the #5-#7 team in the country. If Tech wins this would put them in the drivers seat to win the big 12 south. As long as we do not get blown out it should help our program. We are the underdogs but I like that more than being a Texas fan. It would make winning the big 12 and this game much more special. The fans are fired up and confident, if we win the party wont end. Being a Texas fan I thought was much harder, certainly when you they won the championship I was memorable and one of the greatest sports stories of my life. My sister went there, I was a Texas fan even longer than she was. I loved Vince Young, I loved Major Appelwhite, hated Chris Simms, I loved Ricky Williams, I loved Roy Williams. I have both Vince Young's Titans and Texas jersey still (I don't wear them outside the house however.) Being a Texas fan the expectations are always sky high just like the Rockets only to have the hearts ripped out by losing to OU or some unranked big 12 north team. Being a fan of underdog is great, definitely when the team has one of the most exciting offenses to watch. Oh well Guns Up!

I'm a Horns fan...I think UT will win.

But this is college football...upsets happen all the time. Anything can happen. I'll be disappointed...but I won't be shocked...if UT loses.

Hahaha... my argument is 10x better than your "OMG THE REFS ARE OUT TO GET US! BURNT ORANGE CONSPIRACY IS AT HAND!!!"

And yes, Colt getting hurt appears to be the only way Tech wins this game.

I won't blame the refs for that game, Texas was the better team that day. However I do believe the league could have done a better job picking a ref than having an Austin local, and a UT alumini. I do believe Texas fans would gripe if the big 12 brings a Lubbock local, and a Texas Tech alumini ref for the game as they should. Like Harrell I expect McCoy to receive a few licks in the game.

As a lifelong fan of all things Burnt Orange (and a graduate of UT), I'm more nervous about this game than any we've played this year.
I think Texas wins in a very close, but high-scoring, game.

    Hey Tech fans,

Texas does not play in the kiddie pool like all your other opponents this season.

I'm glad tech is undefeated because The Longhorns will not take them as lightly as they would have if Tech were unranked.

Texas ran out of gas last week and still won. I would be surprised if the Horns didn't have a better overall performance this week.

FYI, Texas has not won 3 times in a row in Lubbock since 1966. Will Texas make it 3 in a row in 2008?

Most of the local Houston morning radio guys are picking Tech to win.

scary game for sure, but if you look at this from a purely objective standpoint Texas should win this with relative ease compared to OU or OSU. tech's offense is potent, but they haven't played anybody even approaching Texas' level. on top of that, Texas has defended the passing game pretty damn well all season... it's the run that has given them trouble, and tech's running game doesn't come close to that of OU or OSU. and tech's D is clearly a notch or two below that of sooner and pokie, so one would assume that Texas will have an easier time putting it in the endzone.

like someone else mentioned, tech starts off this well every year it seems like... beat up on cupckaes and then proceed to falter when the heavy-hitters come around. i'd like to think that they are a much better team than in year's past, but they have to prove it.

the game beingplayed in lubbock at night is a real wildcard, though.

These guys are always a sexy upset pick and this happens every year against the Longhorns with people picking them- then the game happens and they usually lose.

Tech wins in a yawner 56-21.

T-shirt fans are mortified everywhere. Mass run to Academy ensues to purchase new T-shirt.

Tech fans will give up the "guns-up" gang sign for the oft-adopted, OK "horns-down" sign right about . . . yesterday.
Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeee . . . tortillas! Gotta love "tradition."

Define tradition, I have been to a couple of Texas games saw them play Nebraska, few years ago. Saw them play in the big 12 championship against Colorado. College traditon is overrated, I went to A&M Tech game earlier this season, didn't come out that impressed. Kyle Field was a great atmosphere, but their "tradition" isn't much different from most games I have been to.

I hope Jesus tells Colt McCoy not throw interceptions or fumbles in the game.
We better run the ball this game too.
