Those polls are just ridiculous. Texas gets jumped by OU who they beat earlier in the season, as well as a USC team that is pathetic. They will beat apart the division 2 schools in the PAC 10, but lose to an unranked opponent, and barely escape against Arizona. As a Tech fan this is about where I thought we would be. If we beat OSU I think we will pass Penn State at least we should.

Tech will get destroyed at OU is the same thing I heard from UT fans all last week. Tech doesn't win these games, we play in them every week, we have better players blah blah.

You two can argue amongst yourselves.

(Quote from the Oklahoma State/Texas game, after I claimed OSU wins that game at home.)

And yes, that poll is ridiculous.

    Neutral opinion here:

To all the UT fans that say Texas lost because they came out flat or played badly...you've got it twisted. TTU made you play badly and look flat. They dominated UT's line early on both sides of the ball and set the tone. Colt was hit a ton of times and pass coverage was suffocating early...it seems like Tech had outstanding pass breakup after pass breakup.

Of course UT's offense is going to look "flat" when the Tech defense madhandles them early and gets them sitting on the bench and watching while TTU gets a 2-1 advantage in TOP. Up until a 1:37 left in the first half (when UT was able to move the ball for the FG prior to halftime), UT's offense had 20 plays for 21 yards! When you are being kept off the field by a hyped up defense, you won't get into much of a rhythm.

It's a shame UT may be out of the NC picture even if they win out. It's crazy that a potential 1-loss team who lost an away game to a top-10 squad on the last play of the game might get shut out of the NC game...CFB definitely needs a playoff.

Projected BCS Standings have Tech at #3 and UT at #4. Actual standings come out later today.

What do you mean? There was less than 3 minutes on the clock and they had to get a touchdown. They didn't get a 3 and out on Tech all night...why give them the ball back? That drive was win or lose...and they lost...because Mack mismanaged the clock.

(and Tech had a helluva drive and got lucky on that dropped pick)

We shall see if TTU blew thier load on Texas. I wan't to see how they respond to OKST.

Worst thing about this loss is that for the month of November I'm pulling for teams from Oklahoma.

    Godamn shame!

Ugh... sickening. Notice at the UT touchdown that we snapped the ball with 20 seconds still left on the play clock!

I haven't read this thread yet since the game started but I bet everyone's all over Blake Gideon and the mistackle of Crabtree, but our clock management on offense was terrible. Momentum my ass. Tech could not stop Texas at the end, and draining a few more seconds wouldn't have changed a damn thing.

There is no doubt UT was tired....4 games against top 10 opponents was brutal.

Credit to Tech for being up.......but man, let's get real, this Tech team should have lost to Nebraska at home....

Let's not get all jacked over one game, if they beat OU in Norman, it will mean something...but right now, I think they caught UT at the right time.

The coaches poll is ridiculous with UT behind OU and USC, BUT what matters is not the ranking, but the number of votes. UT is still really close to the teams right ahead of them. If UT wins out, we will creep back up there. All we can do now is just win our games and pray. To win the Big 12 South, Tech has to lose their next two games, plain and simple.

As far as Tech shutting down UT in the 1st half, they deserve a lot of credit for that, but they did the same thing last time we played at Tech too. We were down 21-0 to start the game. Difference was this time we once again came back but didn't finish.

And the injury bug is now starting to kill us. The offense was already affected by losing their best (and the only good one) TE in Irby. Losing your 2nd best WR in Cosby will obviously have an affect on Shipley. Then we lost Orakpo. If these injuries last longer than this game, then I'm not so sure about beating KU anymore.

I wouldn't call it a UT choke, since they were down all game and came back. Choke would've been the word to use if Tech lost that game.

While there were bad calls on both sides, it's unbelievable how UT d-line constantly has to deal with the other team's o-line holding them. It's not a fluke... it's been happening in EVERY Big 12 game Texas has played in. Orakpo has been getting held a ridiculous number of plays and no call. When he got hurt, that's right... he was held. This is exactly like Yao's treatment from the refs.

i thought i was the only one who noticed the texas tech o-line holding on every single play. its ludicrous that the refs didn't even call it.

I admitted already we should have probably lost to Nebraska. But the fact is we didn't. Our defense made the play it needed to win the game after being on the field for 2/3 of the game. They could not stop our offense but was on the field non stop. I personally think OSU should have beat Texas two weeks ago but that is just my personal opinion. Why not get jacked over our game when has Tech ever been in condition like this ever to possibly win the big 12 south. Even if Tech loses in Norman we could still win the big 12 south. We have a talented team beating Texas was no easy task but we did. At the end of the season teams always said we should have won this game, we should have lost that. The fact is we are still undefeated like it or not. Will Oklahoma beat Tech probably, but this team can pull of upsets it did last night.

Damn man. So many things. I was pissed about the clock management at the end, Texas left WAY too much time on the clock. I was pissed about Gideon dropping the easiest interception in the world, one I could have caught one-handed. But the end, Texas still lost, and it sucks.

UT now needs Tech to lose to OSU and OU, which is still very possible. Another interesting scenario is if: Tech beats OSU, OU beats Tech, and OSU beats OU. That would still mean Tech goes to Big 12 Championship, but then what if Tech loses to Mizzou (Assuming they go to the Big 12 Championship). If Texas wins out, that would mean Texas would have one less and Tech would have two. It'd be very interesting to see how the voters would vote then, especially if Alabama loses a game.
