Anyone else here thinks Jake Sharp is very underrated as a back? He ran for over 100 yards against OU, and today is piling up the yardage-180 yards rushing, 4 TDs, and 76 receiving yards. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=283062305 He is like the Big 12's version of Sam Mcguffie, only KU doesn't suck like UM.
Texas, go Beat the Hell outta those classless score-running $h!theads coached by that little b!tch Mike Leach..
On a tangential note ... Florida is right now giving Georgia the business. Between this blowout and their beatdown on LSU, it is clear they're now the class of the SEC and probably ought to be in the national championship game if they win out the rest of the season. A Texas-Florida NC game would be awesome.
People were saying that too the last time they ended up squeaking in at the last moment. They went on to embarrass OSU in the NC game. Florida has been way underrated for too long this season, but I think that is about to change.
That year, was there an undefeated team from a major conference that they leapfrogged? I don't remember, but I don't think so. I'm not saying Penn St is better than Florida this year, I'm just saying that there is no way Penn St or UT is going to be left out of the championship game if they are undefeated.
I agree it's going to be difficult for them to leapfrog an undefeated Penn State, but considering the number of highly ranked teams they would have beaten up on (LSU, Georgia, Alabama in the SEC championship), it would be pretty hard not to give them serious consideration. And if Texas falters today, I don't know if TTU will have enough to merit a NC bid over them even if they win out. 42-3 now. And I wonder if they're trying to run up the score to avenge what happened in the game last year.
If any Big 12 team goes undefeated, they're playing for the national championship. If Texas Tech can beat Kansas (on the road), then #1 Texas, then Oklahoma State, then at Oklahoma, all in consecutive weeks, and then go on to win the Big XII Championship... they'll deserve every single #1 vote and they'll get it. No chance Florida with one loss tops that. I agree that Florida deserves to go over an undefeated Penn State, but the 0 in the loss column and Joe Paterno will prevent voters from thinking rationally.
Good point there ... I didn't take TTU's remaining schedule into consideration. It's probably even less likely that they win out, but if they did I agree there would be no question about them playing for the championship. Too bad there's no real opposition in the Big Ten for Penn State to deal with. Florida's backup QB is in and they're still running up the score.
Agreed, I can't fathom Tech winning all of those games. But if they do, they're definitely the No. 1 team in the country, hands down. By the way, on a different subject... I'll use this thread, since it's about the Big 12, to give props to the Baylor supporters here. Part of what happened today is the fact that we're somewhat overrated, but I didn't think we played that poorly. Baylor just came out and played a terrific game, and almost beat us. Griffin is a stud... they're going to really test some Big 12 teams over the next few years.
LOL, now Florida players are just showing off. On a kickoff return, the return guy caught the ball, started walking. Waited until the first tackler got to him, and then evaded him and ran the ball back for like 40 yards. The return was negated on a penalty.
OMG my palms are already sweating. I'm not a big fan of these night games because my mind is a mess until the game is finished.
I am a t-shirt Longhorns fan, but it is really cool to see how pumped up the Tech crowd is tonight. This should be a great game!
