YEAH, this sounds like a CC.net get-together... I'll bring a few pounds of crawfish...and some beers...
Liver spinach beets I used to hate chocolate chip ice cream. Fun fact, your tastebuds change every 7 years so foods you once hated can become foods you love. so dont give up on all foods because you could end up loving them, kinda like me and olives
I can no longer eat Ramen (sp?) noodles. Back when I lived at college, we ate a hell of a lot of this stuff since it was so damn cheap. Then one day, I tried one that just...wasn't right. Don't know how to explain it. Whatever flavor it was, I couldn't even get past the smell alone. And that was all for that. Besides those things, most of what I can't eat has to do with seafood. Squid (calamari, whatever), some fish....and I can not eat any type of crab, save for those Snow Crab legs. Other than that...no. My parents run a fishing/bait and tackle business. Growing up, watching what blue crabs do to each other in a tank or seeing what happens to squid when they are even slightly not out-of-the-water fresh....ugh.
I can't understand how multiple people are offended by cuccumbers. Their baisically just 'solid water'. They have no taste whatsoever. Anyway, the only things I can't eat, I can't eat for the gross-out factor. Any type of sweetmeat, sweetbreads, tripe, etc. No pigs feet, head cheese, etc. No higher primates, like monkeys, or inteligent animals like dolphins, or nasty, dirty creatures like possums. Oh, and no type of insect or insect part. Also, funkily preserved fish. No ludefisk, or gefelte fish. Lox, though, I could eat all day. When I was 10 or so, I was eating a stuffed crab, when I turned it around and saw the eye sockets. I got so scared that I couldn't hear anything for about a second. I got over it, though, and now love crab.
i don't know if i have an allergy i developed or what...but for some reason buttered popcorn makes me vomit!! never used to happen before...but about the time i was a freshman in college, it kicked in. yeah...great that i learned this while on a date to a movie, right??!!
haha thats what i thought but i have a friend who wont eat them...same thing other people said. he just cant eat them. i asked him why and he doesnt even know.
Cheese, I hate Cheese. American, chedder, swiss, probalone, etc. I hate it. Grilled cheese sandwiches make me sick and I would never dare taint a burger with a slice of cheese. For some reason though, I still love Pizza and Lasagna. Maybe I negatively conditioned myself when I was young because I threw up the first time I tried a slice of cheese.
I'll pretty much try anything, so long as its cooked. Of course, fruit and veggies are exempt here. I just can't understand how someone can slurp down raw boogers/oysters. And sushi....yuck. As for things I've tried and can't stand: Brussel sprouts, eggplant, and beets.
Then I must hate the taste of nothing then. All I know is that everytime I've eaten one, it's tasted horrible.
I've forced myself to eat things I didn't like just to acquire a taste for them. I've never wanted to be known as a picky eater. Consequently, some of the things I didn't like before, I now really enjoy. That being said, I've just recently been able to tolerate cucumbers....and I can't eat too much of them. And they had better be drenched in salad dressing. Love pickles...but cucumbers definitely have a taste to me.....and one that took me a long time to tolerate.
I won't eat anything on the show Fear Factor...so you can be assured that I won't be on that show. Last night...they were eating hand-sized live cockroaches...umm excuse me while I change the channel. I just luv watching hot chicks eat live roaches....mmm(barf). Other stuff I will not eat: bugs rocky mountain oysters(testicles) poo liver dog food cat food fish food bird food hay coconut cat dog snake dirt I'm sure there is more
I know. That's really strange. Some of you people are real wusses. I mean, really. How can anyone not like chicken?? It has an inoffensive texture, and it literally takes on the taste of whatever you cook it with. I can only think of two items offhand: eggplant and mayonaise, and even these things I will eat under the right circumstances. With eggplant, it's the texture that offends me moreso than the taste. It's like chewing on an alien's body or something. As for mayonaise, well, it's just... ugh.. I mean, I'll eat it if it's mixed in with potato salad or tuna salad or something, but I'll never spread it on bread and eat it in a sandwich.
I can't stand english peas. Uggh. My one tofu experience was pretty revolting, too. It tasted like a gelatinous cube of cigarette smoke. In my limited experience, I sort of like eating sushi and sashimi. The food that I cannot imagine even trying is haggis. I believe this involves intestines and sheep and all manner of gross ickiness. My wife is a Kiwi with family from Louisiana...she will therefore eat anything (explaining our marriage..woah!).
Potato Salad...can't stand the look or the taste of it. I could probably vomit at the site of it, especially the store bought kind. Thats probably my number 1, but here are some more... Creamy green-beans (love them plain, hate them with anything in them) Onions (and anything with them in it) Sloppy Joe's
As a young kid, I use to eat squirrel and dumplings...of course, maturity and wisdom has set in and I won't get anywhere near the soggy "dumplings" again...
TOMATOES! but if you see me eating a tomato at a CC.net function its cuz I heard tomatoes prevent cancer or something like that not cuz I like them.
