I put vanilla whey powder in my cereal or oatmeal in the morning and agitate it with my hands to blend it (it mixes surprisingly well) and then pour in the milk. It gives it a lot heavier texture and adds about 20g worth of protein. Very filling. Strawberry flavor works great too. I eat cold chicken breasts (usually cooked in a sweet marinade) with fresh fruit (grapefruits, pears, bananas, etc) all the time for breakfast. I'll do ground turkey with diced new potatoes as well... add in garlic and pepper. Diced chicken breasts with egg whites and converted rice with peppers and a little low fat cheese. Breakfast doesn't have to mean "breakfast" type stuff.
When you put milk and (the healthy kind of) cereal together, they both have some protein content and the amino acid balances in each one complement each other nicely. They end up giving you a similar ratio of amino acids to that of eggs. So, if you had cereal and milk, that might well be enough protein - just needs to be enough of it. Sometimes if I'm just eating something quick (don't feel like pouring milk into anything and scooping it out of the bowl; go with whatever is more convenient than that) I add a piece of string cheese for protein. You can also keep jerky around (if you're not vegetarian) for later in the morning.
When I have time, my favorite healthy breakfast is scrambling some eggs using about 8 tablespoons of egg beaters. Throw it on a whole wheat tortilla with low fat shredded cheese, black pepper, and hot salsa. Yummy.
Peanut butter is about the only alternative I actually will eat, mine has sugar and I even add honey so it's pretty high calorie, but a triple decker with whole wheat toast will hang in there a while. I'd like sugar free peanut butter but I haven't ever seen it and I'm too lazy to make it. If you went Whole Foods you could get all kind of nut butters.
I made some oatmeal with milk and whey protein. It tasted okay. I think I made it wrong. I put milk and whey protein and let it boil then mix in the oatmeal. Eh. No eggs so that's good!
Bagel + Fat Free Cream Cheese = 15-20 g protein. Of course you can't match the amino acid profile of eggs without going into whey protein shakes unless...
Yeah that would be a fail. Mix oatmeal + whey powder dry in a bowl or cup. Boil water. Put water together with oatmeal/whey mix. Add cold milk to temperature. Enjoy.
I started eating Fat Free Ballpark hotdogs...probably not an official breakfast food but is probably a better option than cold pizza http://www.ballparkfranks.com/product_fff_franks.html
Honestly, hard boiled eggs are the best option. You can throw some pepper on them too and you're good. IMO Eggs are important to start your day. Wheat Toast with no butter is cool too. If you miss a good breakfeast then you're looking at baked chicked, brocoli, carrots, and rice to make up for missing it. Eating healthy is very important
In Asia they eat a lot of different things for breakfast. One common favorite is congee (rice porridge) which you can eat with chicken, pork or fish slices. One of my favorites is congee with pork strips, pork tripe, salted duck egg and peanuts. If that stuff is too weird for you you can try it with ham, turkey and or hard boiled eggs. Some other good Asian breakfast foods are fried rice, fried noodles and ramen soup noodles.
And for Swoly Tofu ain't nasty. There are lots of way to prepare tofu and I'm sure there's a way out there that you would like it.
What type of bagel are you eating and what type of fat free cream cheese are you buying? I have never seen any combo of these two have nearly that much protein.
