I had a badass fried avacodo stuffed with fajita chicken and cheese at Cafe Adobe on I-10. Never heard of them before.
I got so upset one time when I went out to eat with family (about 8 of us) and they decided to order the fajita explosion for the whole table. I like fajitas, but I don't go to a mexican restaurant to eat fajitas.
Great Tex Mex: El Meson on University in Rice Village Lupe Tortilla's for fajitas Ninfa's on Navigation Ritas: Spanish Village
I've been to Mely's (one "L") once or twice. It's good, but more expensive than Estabans. Plus, I know so many people in League City that I always run into someone I know.
It's on the southbound 59 South Feeder between Shepherd and Kirby. I wasn't impressed by the fajitas, but the enchiladas are awesome.
I don't like lupe tortillas. Not becausee of their food, but because it is basically a day care center. My friends with children like to go there because the kids can just run all over the place--but they got a babysitter and they asked us to meet them for dinner there and I couldn't understand the logic in that. Bottem line, great if you have kids, not a place for people who want to have an actual conversation
I love Lupe's. I go there with my brother whenever we're in Houston. In Austin, I like a place called A La Carrera (Balcones Woods & 183). They have great enchiladas and quesadillas. Can't argue with a fantastic mexican martini from Trudy's either...
I'd put the Original Ninfas top 3 as well. For vegetarians, Mammasitas on Nasa Rd. 1 in Webster is great, and the wait isn't that long. Pappasitos is good but its really noisy and the wait can be ridiculous.
your girlfriend is loco! ditch the girlfriend and check it out sometime. im one quarter mexican and i say it awesome!
