That's might ignorant of you. Maybe ignorant is too harsh of a word...No...it fits...you just don't know. http://www.askmen.com/sports/foodcourt_100/146_eating_well.html
But.. it's a colossal bowl... There's one I used to go to (Pho 21) in the same plaza as the first Hong Kong market by Westpark and Gessner. I think those are around $6 something. Where do you guys get your pho for $5?
Hell I think all types/classes of foods can be healthy, its most of the time, the healthy stuff doesn't taste as good as the greasy stuff... Case in point, Mexican...You can eat chicken fajitas, no skin with corn tortillas, but you know Cheesy enchiladas taste better...
Almost every food when eaten in moderation can be healthy and I think its a mistake to believe that some traditional diets are necessarily healthy, for instance the Chinese peasent diet. That said since the biggest problem in the US is fat and salt heres a few things I can think of that are tasty and healthy. Sushi - A good variety of Sushi offers up a mix of low fat protein and carbohydrates along with the seaweed wrap is loaded with vitamins. If you take it easy on the soy sauce you can control the sodium. Falafeal - If baked is a very healthy especially if paired with vegetables and pita bread. Bun Salad - Vietnames cold noodle salads and if using grilled meat and taking it easy on the fish sauce can be pretty good. Chinese steamed fish Grilled fish with olive oil.
I think Americanized Chinese food can be quite healthy. Order a dish with meat and vegetables where the meat is not battered. Ask for it to be cooked with less salt, less sugar(if it's a sweet dish), less oil(if it's too greasy), and less sauce(cut down on the corn starch). And eat it with not too much rice. The sauce for Chinese food isn't supposed to be as strong as they are in the US. But this changed to suit our Americanized taste buds.
A lot of the food people buy at fast food places is healthy if only they knew how to prepare the same cheap meals for themselves at home. If we're talking meat, it's best to buy lean cut meat like ground beef, and chicken so most of the fat is removed. Hamburgers are alright to eat, with some changes. Things like tacking on BBQ sauce on a burger cooking on a grill will add calories. Using a white bun filled with lots of sugar will add calories. Using a lot of ketchup on your hamburger will add calories. So to take away calories, buy lean ground beef, and cook it with something like the George Foreman Grill. Drain all the grease out of it, and cut back calories. When that's done, place it between wheat buns over white buns, for additional nutritional value and lower calories. Instead of using ketchup, use an alternative like mustard which is much lower in calories. If you're really hardcore (which I'm not), buy a big green slab of lettuce and wrap it around the burger in place of a bun if you really want to cut back on calories. Basically what I'm getting at, is eat the same food, but know what additional stuff is being added to it and then cut back appropriately. You can surprisingly cut back at least 300-400 calories in a single meal if you know how to prepare it right.
well i live in austin so i can't recommend too much. but every pho restaurant i have gone to has been pretty consistent.

Mediterranean food is probably overall the healthiest cuisine out there. I remember reading an article a while back that touted the health benefits of some aspects of Mediterranean cuisine.
