That article you cited has some big misrepresentations.
The Gluconeogen. part is true and I credit you for looking that up, but you probably also know that too much protein catabolism (like the case of no carbs) is bad bad bad for your kidneys.Your BUN levels will spike up to a toxic level. That is why it is not healthy for people to stay on the atkin's diet.

How long do they sustain them and is it good for their long term health? The obvious answer, and if you ask anyone if they should eliminate carbs is no.

I didn't mean to come off as demeaning and If I did I apologize. (The rockets loss tonight may have contributed if I did..)

The fact is that the no carb. route is not a very healthy decision. There are many reasons like the ones I stated where you are putting your body through increased risks.

    lol wut...not sure if srs.

so your body needs sugar..the best way to get it is by sodas, color dyed cereals, and candy??

You are arguing over how the body processes carbohydrates. Everyone knows it's broken down into simple sugars at the later stages.

That is not what I am saying. My point is to cut down our consumption of refined sugars with little to no nutritional value.

300 calories of sugar (however many grams) vs 300 calories of sweet potato...

guess which one is processed by the liver and turned into fat quicker..?

also don't get a big head already over being a med student.

we like it when you turn into a ******* once you become an attending. :)

it's actually pretty funny to see the transition from med student to resident to fellow to attending..
