Good. More sushi for me, then. I am able to eat and enjoy most anything and everything, but that ******* balut/duck fetus would do me in. And I still don't understand the fascination some of you have with Chipotle. Have you not been to Mission Burrito? It's a trillion times better.
I am lactose intolerant. I don't want lactose living in my neighborhood. There are foods I don't like but not sure about fear. When I was a kid I ate a whole jar of maraschino cherries and spent the next several hours puking cherry colored and flavored vomit. Since then I have avoided them. I have the same reaction towards ginger as a lot of posters have towards cilantro. Unfortunately it comes in or with a lot of foods I like. I just put up with it and avoid it when I can.
FYI Sushi doesn't mean raw fish and some sushi has cooked fish or no fish at all. Sashimi is raw sliced fish.
Yummy! I ate one egg on a dare in Manila a few years ago. It was so good I ate a second one. Try natto. Just once. I promise it will be #1 on your food phobia list forever. Usually I can figure out why people in various cultures like a given food item. But having eaten natto a few times, I've given up and freely admit I'll never get it. Can anyone (who knows what natto is) name ANY other food that is so pungent?
Brussel sprouts Cauliflower Peas Eggplant Durian Cottage cheese Lima beans Most of all, jelly-like meat. Cartilage and the like.. *shudder*
i will try just about anything and like most things. Although, when i was 11 or so I tried some frog legs. These things were HUGE. Well, as I bit into it, it it real juicy...the thought of the wet frogs in the creek that i caught earlier in the day popped into my mind. First and only time i've felt queasy while eating something new.
Swoly-D, there are cooked sushi but very few like california roll or shrimp tempura. i only will eat them. speaking of sushi, someone told me that she watched "Monsters Inside of me" and there was this lady who ate raw sushi ended up with a parasite that caused a "tumor" looking in her intensities. Another lady got worms from eating sushi in Africa. Yikes.
There isn't much I won't eat, but another bad Idea that got me real sick was KFC in Hong Kong...ugh... THere was also a bought with Flaming Dr. Peppers that had me avoid Dr. Pepper for about 3 years...
i actually quite like it but it is difficult to eat if you don't have really good skills with chopsticks (whiteboy? ).
i have and it was okay. the version i had was heavily marinated in lime and spices, then grilled. not much meat on them, pretty tough, not sure the point.
