I have to say, this doesn't suprise me THAT much. Emeril has been pushed to the back in favor of such personalities as Alton Brown, Rachael Ray, and Bobby Flay...he's not even in the top five any more. I'm wondering if people started getting tired of the schtick he puts on.

Plus, I'm sure that show costs a LOT of money to produce...

    Food Network Canceling `Emeril Live'
By ERIN CARLSON – 1 day ago

NEW YORK (AP) — Food Network is kicking Emeril Lagasse down a notch.

The celebrity chef's "Emeril Live," which has been on the air for 10 years, will cease production Dec. 11, Food Network publicist Carrie Welch told The Associated Press.

"However, Emeril is under contract with Food Network," Welch said Tuesday. "We love him, we support him and look forward to a long partnership with him."

Welch wouldn't comment on Lagasse's contract.

Asked why the show was canceled, she told the AP: "The only reason would be that it hit a ton of television milestones and, you know, all good things come to an end."

The Food Network will continue producing Lagasse's "The Essence of Emeril," and he will take part in "specials and other development opportunities in the future," Welch said.

The network will also air reruns of "Emeril Live."

"I am deeply appreciative to all the unbelievable staff — many who have been with the show since the beginning — and all the loyal viewers, and the many talented guests who have appeared on the show through the years," Lagasse, 48, said in a statement provided by Welch.

"I look forward to continuing my association with the Food Network with `The Essence of Emeril,' and I have lots of new ideas cooking," he said.

Aw Wtf?! He was awesome! I remember watching his show every time it came one with my aunt (chef) and we'd scream BAM along with him and giggle with joy after he does it.

He's better than some of the other cooking show that are out now IMO.

    Emeril's show was okay.

There was a upper facade that was very annoying. His "bam" was silly, as was his "kick it up a notch". And I always found it irritating that the audience would go berserk when he'd add an ingredient

Emeril: "Now I'm gonna add my garlic."
    audience: whooping, hollering and clapping

But beneath all that glitz Emeril is a truly fantastic chef and his food is very very good. A helluva lot better than Bobby "I love corn" Flay. I can't friggin' stand Bobby Flay's cooking. The guy puts corn in almost everything he cooks and he seems to favor sweetness in his dishes (I don't).

Emeril: "Now it's time to put some alcohol content in"
    audience: Hooot
    Emeril: "And some more"
    audience: Hooot Yaaaay
    Emeril: "More"
    audience: Hooot Yaaa Whistle
    Emeril: "BAM!"
    audience: EXPLODES

The audience going nuts over adding garlic or alcohol is pretty annoying. Emeril is alright, I think he is a good chef but somewhat overrated. I have a feeling the only reason he became so popular is due to his obnoxiousness. I would take John Besh over him any day.

Please, no more Sandra Lee. At least not by herself. She's smoking hot, but her show is a "Semi-homemade" cure for insomnia.

I could handle some more Guida, though.

I would marry Rachael Ray at the drop of a dime. A pretty cute, thick woman who can cook me up some amazing meals? How can you ask for any more?

And I really want to try Paula Dean's cooking. All that butter and stuff she puts in there.....yummy
