I had dinner there Saturday night. Immensily satisfied the Thai craving I had for about 2 weeks. The garlic fish is aweome there and so is the drunken noodles (pad ke mao). Everything is good there really and the spicy cheese egg rolls are definitely different. I got all worked up the Sunday before last only to realize that they're closed on Sundays!
Sorry about back to back posts.. Ya Thai Restaurant is pretty good. I had crispy duck there once..was ok from what i remember. Their lunch special menu is somewhat limited though. Thai Cottage is adequate considering how dirt cheap their lunch specials are. The only problem I've ever had at Thai Gourmet is when my tomatoes weren't that fresh. That only happened once and Thai Gourmet would be the place I would recommend over the other restaurants. Anyone know of any good Viet restaurants ? I've seen one on Westheimer & Fondren but haven't checked it out yet.
Vietnam restaurant in the Heights is really good Pho Vang II on 290/Hollister is pretty good Then there are always the places downtown for good sandwiches
you're like a giant walking contradiction... you love food, to the point that it's practically you're calling card, yet "hate" thai food. i find that perplexing and borderline absurd.
I've been eating Lopez Mexican Restaurant on Wilcrest near 59 since I was a fetus. Best enchiladas ever. And salsa.
Oh ya also... Thai Gourmet hawks your drink like you creeps stare at bikini clad women at the pool. You will never be thirsty which is crucial if you like spice.
http://maps.google.com/maps/place?h...nd+grill&hnear=houston&cid=839595888208317970 Island Grill & Juice Bar next to Whole Foods on Bellaire, a little pricey but delicious. Try the Chicken Pita.
Awesome burger, but I have been scared to go back because it made me sick. Had one for lunch one time and lost it by dinner.
