Red Curry Beef is a Thai dish, not Chinese. It's also a favorite of mine, and the best in town is at Thai Gourmet. Best Thai food in the city hands down. Check it out: http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/reviews/rsv1155.asp
You sure that was a Chinese place? Sounds like a Thai dish to me, no woder you cant find it in a Chinese resturant anymore.
McDonald's (in Beijing, anyway, and seems to be the case in some other cities I went to) is actually almost always clean, and the food is always clean also (if not very good tasting). If you want food that you can count on to not be diseased and to eat it in a clean restaurant, go to McDonald's, of course it tastes like crap but you knew that already from eating the stuff in America.
Yeah, I know being obese is not good for you, but you won't get obese from eating McDonald's once. You, MIGHT however end up in the hospital getting an IV because you ate something that was bad. Happened to me once in China.
McDonald's aren't immune to food poisoning incidents. In 1991 McDonald's were responsible for an outbreak of food poisoning in the UK, in which people suffered serious kidney failure.
