Pho - Pho Binh (the trailer)
Chinese - Hunan Plus (on bellaire)
TexMex - El Tiempo (on Washington)

Been there, and yes it is alot like Hong Kong. Fung's is quite similar, with the large dining room and the carts, but foodwise and tastewise, the dim sum at Fung's is much much better.

The best Frito Pie for me is a JCI.

    Hamburgers- Millers Cafe
    Japanese/Sushi - Tokyo Bowl
    Hot Dog - Coney Island.
Italian - Antonios Flying Pizza on Hilcroft

Yeah, JCI's is great, but it's not really what I'm looking for. There was a place in Austin (cannot remember the name of it for the life of me) and at Sonny Bryan's in Dallas that had fritos, beans, brisket, cheese, bbq sauce and sour cream as their frito pie. That's what I want, darnit! :)

I beg to differ, Ocean Palace's food is more traditional and the "go to" dishes of shrimp dumplings, "siu mai" (in cantonese), steamed pork buns and chinese carrot cake are way superior. Also, I don't recall Fung's Kitchen offering cow tripe. However, I have to say the food at Fung's Kitchen is also very good.

Fung's Kitchen probably offers the best Chinese seafood in town and I highly recommend that place for dinner.

    One more thing...

Fung's Kitchen is located off of 59-South (Bellaire Exit?) next to the Arena Theater.

Ocean's Palace is on Bellaire and Boone.

    Happy eating!

Bad news, Antonio's Flying Pizza on Hillcroft is no more. I was very unpleasantly surprised last time I tried to go there and saw that the place was empty.

I highly doubt it's tea leaves. I think it's bamboo or reed leaves.

See if this is what you meant:

Outback is pretty good for fried mushrooms.

    Yes, they have them.

Then I am baffled. Tea leaves are not for eating, as far as I know. And because of their (small) size and (weak) strength, they are not suitable to be used as food wrappers.

You're not supposed to eat the leaves. Once again, they are lotus leaves.
