The Tiny Tent is led by the corporate, conservative elite that hate government, actively work against minorities, and bamboozle angry white people to vote against their own financial interests while they claim to be fighting for the every man. Their weapons of choice are class warfare, religion, bigotry, homophobia, xenophobia, and patriotism. The Tiny Tent is basically the new regional party formerly known as the GOP.

Well, by your definition, those people are pretty evil, and that's a really tiny tent, because I don't know hardly any of those people and I'm sure that most people don't either...

Although, I have a sneaky feeling...that if someone were to say, "Well I don't like big govt" or "I'm for marriage between a man and a woman", that you might categorize them in that group and put them in that "tiny tent" even though they aren't nearly as bad as your description. I could be wrong, just an opinion. Saying "I don't like big govt" doesn't equal "I hate govt" and saying I'd like marriage to be defined as between a man and a woman doesn't equal homophobia. Just an opinion there.

On a side note, if you think that both parties don't exploit some kind of class warfare, you'd be very naive.

Not strictly speaking, but it does equal support for discriminating against people for being who they are. You don't have to call it homophobia, but it is bigotry.

"Once again", I challenge elected conservative GOP leaders who are not in your tiny tent description to publicly and strongly disavow the so-called "few" tiny tenters. If they did so, the GOP wouldn't have such a terrible image. But they won't. Until they do, the concept of the tiny tent doesn't describe a "few" conservatives, it describes MOST of them.

Does that help you understand? It isn't really that hard. BTW, I accept the way you describe yourself, but I'm not sure a majority of conservatives are like you. Most of the conservatives I talk to are almost proud of being intolerant of moderation. They have no idea how ignorant they sound.

Over the last 25 years or so, there has been a burgeoning part of Republicanism that is fixated only on what makes Liberals/Dems mad. To hell with the America, it's a good day if we can get some loser Liberal to lose their cool, HAHAHAHA. For a small period of time, there was some success (if you can call it that), but now that they represent a failed party and a failed approach to governing, it is not enraging, it's just pathetic and/or ridiculous.

The Trips are very much at home in the psychological arm of the Republican Party that gets jollies from making Libs/Dems pissed, regardless of the merits of the arguments. In fact, the more outrageous the argument the greater the Republican mirth. You see this in Hannity and Coulter and a host of other folks. Our local boys are just sad mimics made all the more absurd because they refuse to realize the last election drove a stake in Reagan/Bush Republicanism, which they think they represent when they post ridiculous stuff culled from the sordid deep of the wingnut web.

Time for the real Republicans to stand up and take their party away from the whiny, spoiled, tantrum-throwing wing that leads the party now. Of course, I've been saying that for a number of years now.

The Tiny Tent has perfected the art of coded language so your quoted statements really have far more meaning than would appear on the surface. After all, it's the anti-big govenrment Republican Party that exploded government over the last 30 years without paying for it. It's the strict constructionist Republican Party that can't read the 14th amendment when it comes to gay marriage. It's the class warfaring Republican Party that's been at the lead of the biggest wealth redistribution in US history and then has the audacity to claim class warfare when it comes to paying taxes.

Since joining the BBS I've gone from far right to near the center.

The terrible, tantrum-throwing, trigger-toting, truth-twisting triumvirate transpire tedious torment toward treehugging truth-tellers.

Overall the ridiculous making a mountain out of a molehill type complaints that the Republicans have come to I find mostly just annoying and self-defeating like the media hype about a Kobe Lebron finals. I do worry though that they do mask a failure to have a legitimate opposition party at a time when I think we need some legitimate opposition.

There are a lot of things that Obama and the Democrats have done that I think do need to be looked at much closer and needs to be debated more vigorously. For instance I think we need to look much closer at Sotomayor's judicial philosophy and rulings but going around calling her a racist and getting worked up over her ruling in the "douchebag" case just weakens and distracts from a substantive look at her record.

I think at the moment the Republican party is so weakened and desperate that they are still sorting out what is their role is as an opposition party and in a time of uncertainty the loudest voices no matter how wild they are are getting the most attention.

both parties suck which is why only two of them are heavily financed with corporate money. the idea is to get idiots bickering about whose 'team' is better, much like a sporting event, when in fact both candidates would achieve roughly the same goals. The problem with America is we watch too much TV instead of learning the basic core of politics and history, in which case few people would vote D/R in their current states.

But you parrot the views of Rush and Hannity (though you may be getting their views from views from some of the blogs that get their talking points from them). If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck.

So sad that you have morphed into this.

Leave it to mr articulate to capture my point in a way I could not.

Why can't the right wing conservatives - on the board or in the general sense...why can't you guys come up with something legitimate to criticize???

Don't they get by focusing on all this silly non-sense like Chrysler dealerships or made up stories that it's back-firing? People see through it and it doesn't make Obama or the libs look bad, it makes the right wingers look WORSE?

You are just pushing people to the center. You are basso, TJ, Big Tex, et all. You are trying to push your views and make the other side look bad, and you occasionally get the liberals goat, but everyone else is turned off by it. You should take a page from Refman.
