The Rockets had NONE tonight against the Kings. Have you ever seen so many bad fouls from Shane Battier?? They were in the penalty with 7:30 left in the 4th!! and we kept fouling!!!?? And even though its a tough play and you don't really think about it,, the kickball at the end really hurt us. One point lead, 1:00 to go... time to post up Chuck Hayes??? Down one, 48 seconds to go.. a Rafer Alston desperation flip-up shot with :15 on the shot clock?? And last but not least, Tracy... you're a superstar in the NBA and you've got two players wrecklessly jumping in the air for a pump fake.... go up and draw the FOUL!!! Instead, he waited to take a near-impossible fade-away. It's part Adelman's gaffe, but mostly the players.. we're fighting for a decent playoff seed.. Adelman or somebody has to be a leader and get this team to FOCUS.
Leaning in would have just made the shot harder. Those refs would have never given that last second call to T-Mac on the road in Arco.
And pass to Scola more. Jesus. So many open looks for Scola, but the guards hesitated or didn't pass to him at all. Thus just letting the double team come, and stagnating the offense.
there is always next year... but seriously, we shouldn't **** our pants. you could see it cleary from tip-off, that we'll slack off, then pick up intensity late... unfortunely, it was too late. also, it doesn't help with the fact, with some crazy calls by the refs. both ways, but their way at the end of the game. and there is always the fact, that we don't have yao...
The officiating was the worse I have seen all year. They blew the whistle the whole game they kept it close. Maloofs and vegas is all I can say about that.
I disagree... he didn't even have to lean in... all he had to do was go straight up and give an elongated, straight-foward shooting motion and there would have been nothing the defenders could have done to get out of the wasy, seeing as there were two of them right beside eachother... the ref would have had no choice but to call it.
Tmac choked, he should have leaned in...and taken on the contact and forced the refs to make that call. Did you see Martin forcing the action all game? Tmac is an avoid the contact player.....and at that point in the game.....that is not good. And Rafer....FRICKEN Rafer...passing the ball to Chuck......wtf was he thinking...then he followed up that mental gym by going one on 4....for his customary brickage.... Rafer is not a quality starting PG...period..... DD
actually, i dont' blame tmac. refs had stupid calls, very stupid calls, and even non-calls, alot non-calls to tmac. the refs are just not perfect, which is how things roll.
Panic set in. There was a lack of confidence of finishing off the game. Our old weaknesses are staring us in the face.
When you have the last chance, call a timeout, make a good plan, then execute 2 points! This is what an elite team should do. But we are not that good How can we pass the the first round if we play like this?
panic? i thought we were too confident, from start to end. it seemed to me, in their head it was, "its the kings, we can beat them easily" and let them score some buckets. then once we were down, their mind was going, "ok, now to time to play, this is too easy" hence rafer throwing up the brick, coach not callin a timeout, rafer giving it to chuck, and then chuck jackin up a shot.
Shane and luther have pregnant wives. They're prob more worried about them than the game. It's not a bad excuse. These people have more things on their minds than bball.
I would settle for them just having a meeting with Dream about being "Uumble and Uungry" and the need to "teak one step at ah time."
