If their defense is now “Dowd(lawyer) crafted the response on Twitter”, that is worse because it states that it was a deliberately crafted legal response, and they now cannot claim that his account was hacked or it was a typo slip up that authorities should let slide. And we also know that the press secretary has stated that Trump tweets are official White House statements. So Trump is screwed here... that is if anyone actually takes action. I believe it’s the Senate Judiciarty Committee that would open a probe on obstruction which would likely be a recommendation for impeachment, and this wouldn’t have to wait for Mueller’s probe to finish. Lastly, we know from history that Obstruction is an impeachable offense for a president, as is purgery. So there is no reason to say now that Trump shouldn’t be impeached. Totally inexcusable.

So the defense now is that it was proper for Flynn to negotiate on behalf of the incoming president with a geopolitical rival undermining the current President. For how many are down playing the Logan Act it is still a law on the book and if Flynn, Pence and etc.. didn't think that there was at least something unethical about this why would the lie? If it really was proper then there would be no reason to lie. For those who think this is no big deal consider how much criticism is leveled against Obama regarding the SOFA with Iraq and the nuclear agreement with Iran. What if Obama's incoming national security advisor in December of 2008 while GW Bush was still in office had negotiated with Iran regarding Iraq and nuclear weapons? Would many of you have been saying that Obama was doing the right thing and what a World leader should be doing or would you be saying that there is only one president at a time?
If it wasn't illegal then it wasn't illegal. So Russia tries to influence election now everything Trump does with Russia is questionable? That's ridiculous if Trump had nothing to with the election meddling. The meddling should not govern how he deals with Russia
