Lin Lin all the way. That first step against a defender he had on his first bucket was mesmerizing. The problem with Flynn is he doesn't seem interested in playing defense which I don't like. At least put your hands, or fingers in the face, Flynn just looks at the defender, at least yell at him. The lack of D just turns me off on him.
Geez, I thought Lin totally outclassed Flynn last night. Lin looked like a pro baller. He was tough, a good finisher, played hard, and ran the break really well a couple of times. Flynn was a ball hog who was out of control and didn't look like he belonged on the floor. He was a draft mistake.
Recommend he stays, but wouldn't mind if Lin goes. Lin has proven he can play. His impact on a salary cap is zero. He has a better chance of finding playing time elsewhere. Rockets fans will be happy if they keep him though.
If Lin goes, Rockets fans can still watch him because he will likely go to the Mavs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whVEiYap1F4
You know who Lin reminds me of (to a certain extent)? Spanoulis. Instead of TMac of Greece, Lin was sort of the D.Wade of the Ivy League (and later the D-League): In the prior leagues, both Lin and Spanoluis were effective in being on the ball (perhaps even dominating the ball). Neither of them had to develop into great spot-up shooters or great off-ball role players. The challenge for NBA coaches is how do you use a guy like this: Are they talented enough to play the same way in the NBA? Maybe not-- chances are you have other people who are better at doing what they did best at the prior level (like the actual TMac, and, for Lin, Curry and Ellis and now Kyle Lowry). So, they'll need to develop new skills and find new niches in the NBA. The difference between Spanoulis and Lin is likely attitude. Spanoulis got frustrated, took his ball and went home to Greece. Lin seems intent on making it in the NBA even though he probably has lucrative opportunities elsewhere (Can probably dominate in China, both hoops-wise and in terms of popularity, and earn a lot of money doing it).
The other difference is that if he actually makes the roster, this time it will be more than just one guy railing about their boy not getting enough playing time.

It was more than one guy for Spanoulis, too. There was DD and there was these two guys waiving the Greek flag in the Toyota Center stands.
I still think the team should have played him because it wasn't going anywhere and needed to find out if he could ball at the NBA level. However, him pussying up and heading home was weaksauce.....totally pussified behaviour. IMO, Van Gundy was the worst type of coach for him, and cultural differences made that gap wider....... Oh well....I got over him when we got Scola....moving on is what I do..... Next ! DD
Flynn is a tradeable asset, and we have to pay him anyway.....I think Lin gets caught up in the numbers game even though he would be better on this team. DD
One more difference between the two: Lin is smarter and more religious. Spanoulis is hairier and smellier.
Because these people have watch them both play minutes of 2 preseason games. Regardless of who should or shouldn't stay - hey I can't judge from the minutes I've seen - Flynn will stay because his contract is guaranteed and was actually drafted (albet 2009 pick). When you're looking at your 13-15 players, then it's the tie-breakers like this that count.
