I believed her when she said she couldn't eat w/o passing out I believed her when she collapsed while walking forward I believed her when she struggled to speak properly Heck, I even believed her when she demonstrated that she can walk backwards, normally. But it all went out the window when she could run normally AND this fixed her speech problem?!? What a load of bull
If this is false, she sure is good at faking it. I'd like to see one of her doctors interviewed. She will be outed soon if this is phoney.
So Bill Maher went crazy on flu shots, but the O'Reilly Factor (though, admittedly, his stand-in Juan Williams) is the voice of reason? <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jP0QYLMUZb4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jP0QYLMUZb4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> It should be noted: this was not the H1N1/swine flu shot. (As a 20-something, previously healthy, non-pregnant female, I don't think she was even eligible to get first dibs on the H1N1 flu shot.) This was supposedly caused by the regular, seasonal flu shot.
did they say that she got a seasonal flu shot or the H1N1 vaccine? the H1N1 vaccine was not readily available as of August 23rd.
When I was about 6 years old, a measles vaccine gave me arthritis for about 2 weeks, I would wake up and be all cramped up and unable to move my fingers and toes etc. After about 30 minutes of being up, I would get my movement back and be fine, it lasted for 2 weeks then went away. I don't doubt for a minute that her flu shot might have accidently triggered something.....I just feel sorry for her. DD
So is this fake or what? After the balloon guy incident, I kind of don't know what to do in a situation where a story may be true or false.
Wired had an article about the Dilbert creator's struggles with speech dystonia. It's good he's bringing awareness to this weird condition. http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/magazine/17-08/ff_adams ... Was it me or was the reporter laughing on 1:31 when her muscle contractions started?
But it's not even swine flu related; it's sensationalist, non-fact checking idiots in the media who are tying this to swine flu (kind of like how Drudge is tying Obama to the weakening dollar, according to Poltico...but that's another story).
This was the first clip I clicked on in the thread, not noticing that there was music to it. I immediately started yelling "f*** you" over and over again to counterbalance the instanteous laughter. Then I watched the original story and I'm still confused. When she's walking forward, are there additional but damaged brain processes that come into play? Is she thinking more about direction, appearance, stride? Even though it's already a classified condition, there's got to be some fascinating psych and neurological research to be done here.
I think in the context of her wanting to be a cheerleader it's sad. Beauty isn't entirely or even mostly God-given. So to the extent that she put a lifetime of effort into her appearance and image and hoped to capitalize on it, but probably can't now, is a cruel enough irony to evoke sympathy. Similar to a surgeon or concert pianist who gets crippling arthritis.
