Ok, then I think that is where we differ. I think without T-mac we are first round, maybe second round fodder...even if we packaged T-mac and Rafer to the Bulls for Hinrich. I think we can go further with T-mac then without. But obviously that depends on him changing his ways. The balls in his court. He's been called out officially in Houston. He can't hide anymore...the limelight is on him in a big negative way. I for one am going to watch and see how he responds. Hopefully those close to him are telling him, "Yo t-mac, this is it, it's on you baby to set an example"...and somehow in that mixed up head of his he figures out a way to rationalize a change in behavior. I'll give him that chance before I deal him for Kirk Hinrich. But I see that you are coming from a place where you think we can win a ring in a different scenario. But we'll see what happens. I don't think any route has been set in stone...yet.
Agreed, I call this the "TMac intermission" the ball is in his court...he either comes in and plays hard within the team concept or the team will simply sideline him...for the good of the overall team. Tracy needs to be careful, he has a contract year coming up, and he is looking squarely at a Marbury like scenario.... DD
A lot of fickle fans forget how hard and well McGrady has played in every playoff game of his career. I'll turn on him the day he stops giving it his all in the playoffs, when the games really matter. He didn't ask to be traded specifically because Orlando drafted Howard. Like many veterans approaching their prime, he wanted immediate help and felt that if Orlando had a win now philosophy they would have drafted Okafor. Kobe did the same thing with Bynum... don't forget how much tension there was between him and the Lakers before their recent success. I'll stress it again, constantly criticizing McGrady isn't going to motivate him. That would work with Kobe. You have to be patient, put healthy players around him, and see if he can finally put it together in the playoffs. TMac does things at his own pace, that won't change now. He's historically had very shallow, weak playoff teams to play with.
as bad as it seems, i am willing to give mcgrady 2-3 weeks of a window, just to see if he can turn things around. but that for me is his last chance. that is it. it's just me though.
11 years in the league, 7 playoff series, 4 times having home court advantage....ZERO playoff series victories. How long do you keep rolling 7's before you walk away from the craps table? DD
the only time stats matter is for when you lose and are looking for ways to avoid the blame. yes, tracy always steps up, and as a result he always gets to say "look, i did my part and it's not my fault" after his teams lose. good for him. i would rather have a team that wins with no superstar "imposing his will" than have a team that loses and has a superstar ready to make excuses.
Even cockroaches need to eat. Don't you love the parasitical people in this country, from the paparazzi to the sports media to the financial media who prey on people's visceral instincts to eek out a miserable and meaningless life This guy who made a career out of bashing Tmac crawls out of his hole where he was hiding for the last 5 years and teams up with a failing Houston sports guy to throw red meat to the masses. Mob mentality is as old as the human brain and the cockroaches know how to exploit it and sell it
Lance Z has been one of T-Mac's biggest fans even facing off with Clutch on the last drama filled episode of woe is me in 06. Could it be people are just dissapointed?
the mob wants their $22MM. I'm generally the last person to talk about how much an athlete gets paid, but given the economic situation of the country, episodes like this are a little harder to take from fans given the amount of money this guy makes. i understand you're a big fan of tmac, but you should never forget that aspect of criticism
That's the point I'm trying to make. He's fragile, weak-minded, and not a leader, but you need his talent to win in the playoffs and make things happen down the stretch. So there really is no point ganging up on him now, because he doesn't respond to that (unlike Kobe), especially considering we won't get anything more than heavy, overpriced contracts for him with no clutch production.
Yes, people are disappointed and Lance will make sure you stay disappointed. If possible, mad. Even better, wanting his head on a plate and calling Lance so that Budweiser sells a couple more beers.
Really? 50 wins and getting bounced out the 1st round WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEWWWWEEEEEE Major improvement Rocket RIver
How many back to back's in January? From what I remember there's only one, right at the end of the month.
