Fox News is the only one worth watching. The rest are screaming liberals.

There is nothing particularly novel about this article. A pretty standard post partum sour grapes piece. What do you expect them to write, the Appocalypse is upon us?

Silly us. We expected him to write with perhaps a modicum of intelligence, tact, and talent. His piece was devoid of all three and it was critical of a player who is joining our team.

I know you spend a tremendous amount of time schlepping around the Hangout forums and may have lost sight of this, but you're on a Houston Rockets fansite. We don't appreciate criticism of our city, franchise, or players when it comes from outside our little community here.

I can't believe you're surprised people are attacking the article and the writer.

How did I misunderstand your post? You're asking "what's the big deal? What'd you expect?" I think that misses the point. This was to be expected; that doesn't mean we have to accept it, like it, tolerate it, or ignore it. That's why you've got 3 pages of people criticizing the article and the author.

When did I say accept it, like it, tolerate it or ignore it?

I was, I thought, diminishing the validity of what the writer was saying by pointing out: A) It's predictable sour grapes, and B) That his options were limited.

Well then, you're right, I did misinterpret the premise of your post. Sorry, my fault.

If houston is such a bad place to live then why did steve BALK at wanting to go to crappy orlando. It isnt like all the great players are being lured to go play there because its just the most lovely place in the world to be, unlike houston and L.a.. Orlandos only claim to fame is Disney world. you could fit all of orlando into just one of houstons suburbs. If houston is being dissed then that only means that they are just jealous.

    Crap.
He has a poll on the internet asking "Will Houston be the team to beat in the West next year". He thinks absolutely not. He went on saying how T-Mac is not a winner, and Olando got better out of this deal, blah. He and that idiot Dibble were very sarcastic about Rockets, even made fun of Yao's accent. Yao should sue the crap out of them. They also read emails, all dissing Rockets. I also sent an email, but they chose not to read it. Morons.
Not saying we should be giddy, but I am absolutely ticked off by these idiots calling out us even before Yao and T-Mac yet to play one game together. It's like Yao bashing two years ago all over again. Morons.

Thats strange that the head anchor on sportscenter is saying those things because its probably because of the sportcenter hype that other fans are lashing out against houston. What kind of poll is that? I don't see any houston fans claiming that we will be the best team next year. We obviously got significantly better for them to even be asking that question.

Sounds like comparisons a guy would make between his ex-wife and his new girlfriend. :) No matter how great the new girl may seem, you can almost be guaranteed there is another guy out there that is sick of her s***.

hey guys i emailed him 2 days ago, and he replied this morning. This is what he had to say about my email.

    Mike,
____So glad you got a kick out of the column in Houston. I hope Tracy provides you with a few laughs too, instead of tears. Please don't make the mistake in thinking that I care about either team. I don't. I do wish Tracy the best, though. He's a nice enough kid. If he ever applies an ounce of work ethic to his enormous talent, the Rockets will have the next dynasty. I wouldn't hold my breath though. And don't get intoxicated over his scoring titles. The guy couldn't even crack the league's top 50 in field goal percentage last season. What does that tell you?_No defense either. At 25, he's one-dimensional. A perimeter shooter who guns the ball at one end of the court and waves a matador's cape at opposing players at the other end. Maybe this trade will be a wake-up call for him. I hope so. Good luck. -- pk

Other then the childish comment about Houston, I thought the article held a lot of truth in it. Houston needs to make some more moves or get some good free agents or they won't do near as well as you guys think. They still have no power forward. I think Howard is trash. There will be absolutely no frontline for the Rox when Yao wears out again towards the end of the year. And he will because there is nobody there to back him up. I think they gave up too much depth to get Tmac. We still don't have a true SF unless Boki finally steps it up. I am sure they can find somebody to fill the PG spot good enough. The Rox may be better off down the road, but I do not see it for the upcomming season.
